  1. i had a ebt in the 80s it was nuts and as thick as a wall, sold it to a lad when my missus got pregnant as we couldnt trust it with human or animal. The lad took it and worshipped it despite it ripping the cab out of his lorry and destroying his kitchen!
  2. Thanks Butcherboy just looking at his dogs they look in great nick and he is flying goshawks so he must be a bloody good handler
  3. from the website they seem to have imported french and hungarian dogs in to breed and they actually have sent a dog back over to hungary where its won their field trial equivalents. Seem to be thoughtful breeders from what ive read but just trying to find out a bit more
  4. i have a 3 tiered hutch 6 foot high 6 foot long and 2 foot wide, put loads of stuff they can climb over climb through and crawl up. Draught proof nest box and the whole thing should be escape proof if there is a hole they will find it.
  5. Just as the title says really im looking at this breed and wondered if anyone had any experience of this kennel?
  6. spot on mate but nowt like a bit of mud
  7. my wifes labradoodle catches rabbits when bushing on a straight run she has no chance but in cover she is a fecking hard dog. Used to know a b loke in ireland who lamped using a german shepherd bitch she got the odd one. and ive seen a staffie and collie team bushing and catching
  8. i have one about 22" spot on little ferreting dog and i think she would be lethal on the lamp but those days are gone for me. first x kelpie/ grew. Not a nice natured dog though but easy trained and very game
  9. Nice one John, i still havent heard from that landowner on watership down but fingers crossed. Im out this morning its blowing a gale but i will give it a go.
  10. f**k it i would go overdrawn for a good days sport. Good read mate
  11. the world has expanded just like my waist line methods have become more detailed just like the instructions on my prescription the future is unclear just like my eyesight
  12. well tomorrow morning when i set out i will have my ferretbox/back pack (It has a section for nets)that i invented a spade and maggie but arter 10 rabbits im calling it a day even gutted they take a bit of carrying
  13. thats the problem whith ferreting these days some times i could do with one of those motorised trollys that fishermen use to carry all the gear, ferret box, locator, nets, long net, stop nets, quick sets, spade, knife, dog lead, lunch tin, rabbits ....................AND FERRETS!!!!!! what happened to a ferret in a sack a dog by your side and a pocketful of nets?
  14. i still dont understand what went on and what eventually happened???
  15. good stuff mate he will just get better from now on
  16. i hate putting them on as i always think im strangling them but once they are on it all goes to plan
  17. ive often thought they dont bolt well in strong winds but ive disproved that theory myself lately
  18. every single time i put new shavings in it makes me smile, ferrets going mental never gets old with me
  19. Common sense i know but Just a reminder if your in the frozen north! changed mine last night and this morning you would think they had been dry for days!
  20. Common sense i know but i change mine morning and night in this frost and sometimes during the day if im in. Thirsty little buggers especially if you have them on dry food which i did yesterday as the rabbit i took out the freezer on friday and left in the garage to defrost still hasnt!! look after them well and they will provide the sport
  21. ive hunted rabbits all my life and i think what you intend to do is misguided, honestly you do not want rabbits on your land the damage they do has to be seen to be believed. Enviromental factors aside they like all rodents will reach plague proportions very easily. We have recurring outbreaks of myxi, natural predation, road casualties, hunting and extreme winters but still the populations grow.
  22. i have a bit on the side of a quarry its almost vertical cant work the dogs as the quarry is 100 foot deep and it puts the shits up me, i wont even use the ferrets on some sets as they are too close to the edge. Good sport with the shotguns but i prefer the nets and dog. its quieter more natural and a lot more deadly than my shooting
  23. just any pair of work boots, ive had all sorts over the years and they are all the same, last about 6 months to a year and then need replacing but they do get some stick. my feet dont seem to feel the cold and i can put up with the wet for a few of hours. The thing with wellies is you walk through heather, climb a wall or climb a barb wire fence and holes just appear? anyway once the rabbits start bolting whats on my feet is far from my mind
