I bought one of these the other day completely out of the blue, I had sold a gun through a local gunshop and was in collecting the funds when i spied this gun. Its a second hand synthetic stock model and ive never owned a semi before or even shot one but thought i would give it a go completely on a whim. Why oh why did i not buy a semi years ago?????? its brilliant fits like a glove handles superbly and the recoil is very light perfect for ferreted rabbit shooting (Cartridge to rabbit ratio not too shabby). Put about 200 carts of all sizes and weights through it in the past week without a

www.laochingundogs.com This bloke came highly reccomended but i have no experience of him myself. Good luck with the pup mate

You have allowed the dog too much freedom mate the very best advice i can give you is take him to a professional trainer and learn to handle him its about £25 an hour but a £100 worth will help you get the dog you want. I have a little lurcher here that i almost ruined by not realising what i was doing wrong i was gutted when i learned all her problems were created by simple mistakes i had made. Good luck

Never really stopped doing a few little garden jobs. We are starting this Sunday to clear a farm, open sets on short grass, nets and guns initially backfilling as we go. it should take 4 sundays to do. Then we will do the rest when the bracken dies off probably work the heavy cover with the gundog and do the outlying fields with the lurchers when it isnt as warm. although ive got a fleece on today its bloody freezing!

Ive just put my hob trevor back in with the girls and he was delighted bouncing all over, plus he has a favourite jill called eileen who he was especially delighted to see. The ferret is one of the most sociable animals and on their own they become morose creatures. (3 x kits free to a good home pm me for details)

They are "Stoatally" different, any claims of this crossbreeding taking place can be refuted "Weasily", and dont let anyone "Badger" you into believing otherwise. This thing gets me annoyed and "Otter" under the collar. (I have 3 x ferret kits going free to a good home absolutely stoat free lineage but their grandfather was a wolverine pm me if you want one )

Took the pup down to the ponds this afternoon just lately he has been building his courage up and playing deeper and deeper with the other dogs. Well today we were flabbergasted he just took off into the water like an otter not a splash or a struggle. Me and the wife just stood and looked at each other before letting out a cheer. Chuffed to bits he is 5 months old next week and i really didnt think he would take to it so easily This was taken a few weeks ago but you get the general idea

it definately doesnt help their condition, i have done a lot of pest control on Home office land lately with no stock on it and yet they were badly infected with liver fluke and tapeworm.

I had the vizsla pup out this morning for his 15 minute walk/training session. I do this in a 5 acre meadow witha few horses in it. At the moment there is patches of long grass and a few rabbits about but they are very shy so i know they wont clap down they just begger off. Still it leaves a lot of scent about and the pup is casting about continually. Janos is coming up 5 months on the 20th and is all legs and ears at the minute. i took the puppy dummy i made him sit and holding his collar i cast the dummy asking him to mark then fetch. he didnt lunge after the cast which i was pleased

it could do with another barrel especially if you shoot like me!! Great tool highly reccomend it. I use a 2.5 inch cartridge around buildings and a 3inch in open country. never used the subs as nobody seems to stock them around here. mainly on rabbits and feral pigeons 25 to 30 yqrds no problem, Great sport over ferreted rabbits/ You also have the added challenge of getting its huge barrel into a standard cabinet i have to break the barrel to fit it in

wishing Dave (hotshot2me) a speedy recovery
stroller replied to weekend.rifle's topic in Airgun Hunting
its a good thing to see a community such as this wishing another member well. When i bought my first air gun a couple of years ago everyone on here was hugely supportive and although ive moved on to the dark side (Shotguns) i drop in now and again to see how its going. Keep it up lads Dave get well enough to get back to it -
i sold a prosport recently. its was a heavy gun but a good vermin stopper. I decided to come away from air rifles and now do most of my rabbit shooting with a baikal hushpower 410 using 2.5 inch cartridge i find it makes an air rifle type crack and is deadly at 35 yards for sitters and moving targets. and i have to say i couldnt get to grips with the niceties of rifle shooting and zeoroing in etc i guess a shotgun is a lazy shooters gun but its working well for me

if your older dog has bad habits walk them seperately. I wouldnt dream of walking my gundog pup with my lurcher bitch who is a hard hunting mooching dog even when he is fully trained or he will quickly become a very expensive very slow lurcher. Pups rely on older dogs too much as well and will pick up all sorts of confidence issues as an older dog will take retrieves from them and beat them to dummy etc as well as the added competition forcing steadiness problems. I only take the pup out with my older gundog to introduce him to water and it has helped with whistle commands stop and re call

greyhound men pay a thousand pound and a lot more a pup for potential. Thats what your buying potential. the breeding is there but who knows if it will come out? lifes a gamble. i paid £800 for a vizsla pup so far so good at 18 weeks he is dropping to the whistle and doing bits and pieces of fun training like a little champion im well pleased with him. But i tell you i felt the £800 price tag and there is a long way to go i just hope im good enough to bring him along

mine get on well with rabbits i have 8 kits here sucking on a rabbit carcass they love rabbits..........to pieces!!

lovely looking animal mate

Alright John, he is doing well easy to train and very affectionate i cant see him being too problematical as he gets older

he is a labradoodle mate

i have a friend who was thrown out of Henley regatta when her lab caught a duck and ate it in front of the posh crowd. it wasnt a working dog and this reply has no real bearing on your problem but its a good story. I have a lurcher that catches all sorts of birds, moorhens are her favourite ive never taught her not too as she is a mooching dog. but i wouldnt allow my gundog to riot like that.

Depends how old he is and how ingrained the habit is and even what breed he is but i would start again walk with him side to side and instead of going for a walk in say a wood dont use the path get in the rough. A lot of dogs become path hunters just because they are allowed to run along the line of least resistance. use treats thrown in the rough and direct the dog in side to side, graduate in blind dummy retrieves, then eventually cold game he will get the idea
