  3. seriously tho we pulled into a rural car park to find a dogging meet loads of cars going at it.! loads of guys stood round this one car watching a girl, legs spread, giving it to herself. needless to say they got lamped and all fled the scene rather quickk

  5. cheers mate, i find its one of them baits when nothing else is working it just pulls a bite or two out the bag
  6. just touching bottom and then twitch them back across drain every few mins just a foot or less even at a time. every bite was just after a movement of the bait, i reckon they were all shoaled up in that spot, all had loads of leeches on em, and i reckon the movement just spurred them into a take on a day they werent really up for feeding
  7. yeah i find as long as there short pieces like 5 inch average then they gulp them quick, i strike very early with lamprey, at first sign of bite normally, rather miss a couple of small fish than deep hook a big un
  8. above is the best of three pike i caught on sunday in a lincs drain, all three came within one hour from under one tree, we were roaming the drain all day from first light till dark, just goes to show you can sit in the wrong peg all day, i like staying mobile when piking. this one was 19lb10oz, all came from floatfished lamprey, twitched back towards us. still never had a 20 had 3 high 19s, this winters mission is a 20, as it has been for the last 3 winters! wish me luck!
  9. you really are better off letting the line pull free from a clip, if the pike feels resistance they will often drop it, my hook holds improved and catch rate better when i stopped using the baitrunner facility and fished with the line in a drop off indicator attached to the rear rod rest, bail arm open. obviously it isnt always possible, big rivers heavy flow etc, but static deadbaits on stillwaters and canals etc its fine.
  10. badly prepared particles is a myth its been proven, massive shame about that nutsey fish, my mate dave will be gutted he has that ticket. you certainly got the venues down your way mate, where i live its crap for carp. not bad pike mind.
  11. i would say you dont need a baitrunner mate, better off putting the line in the clip with bail arm open, less resistance for pike when they take then. any decent rod 2.75lbtc plus will do you, what sort of venues is it bank or boat fishing?
  12. good fish that, i agree this section of forum is a bit pants .did a 19.12 on sunday on float fished lamprey, lincolnshire drain. and 2 around the 5-7 mark, going on the trent on a boat in cromwell weirpool friday so hopefully some more. ill let you all know. if i knew how to do photos id get it up
