  1. but at least you got some. just work it enough to keep it till the mixi drops, wont be there for ever and when it goes the local population should be immune, or at least more resistant, to it for a while. atb
  2. was at clumber park fairly recently having a BBQ one evening, my bullx runs off after a squirrel round these trees into the open, same thing happens, he gets it and it hangs off his nose, never heard such a racket. eventually he gets the upper hand, brings it back and drops it right at my feet nose pissing blood everywhere, then i realise that around the corner but in full view of where it happened was a group of about three families with loads of kids watching, they werent happy little ones crying and everything! i wished he forgot his retrieve that day, needless to say we made a rather ha

  10. from what i can tell mate its very hard to reverse, its often to do with the way the pup brought up, some say tug of war etc will do it. but some dogs might of had a nasty bite off a rabbit (or other quarry.......... like rats) and therefore want to ensure it dont happen again.maybe they dont like the sound of a rabiit squeeling in their ear..... either way though mate a dog catching rabbits but hard biting is better than a dog not catching rabbits atb

  14. no, as i have had this happen before on the bank, hooked my retriever on a hair rig before , now i always make sure what i use goes back in bag or in bin and on this day my rods were already made up in the bag, didnt lose any rigs, and they went back in the bag with same rigs on so i didnt get any new rigs out at all.

  17. had he ran hard yesterday? could be a muscle strain but could be a whole lot more serious, just keep an eye on him if he starts to get pain or dehydrated then off to the vet no mate, not run in the summer really, he had a lazy day fishing with me yesterday.
  18. hello all, my dog this morning was yelping when i touched his stomach area just in front of his back legs, he was fine last night and im 99% sure he hasn't eaten something he shouldnt. anyone had this happen or have any ideas as to what it might be? he's nearly 2, he's fit (or as fit as he needs to be in summer), i will take him to vet if he's no better by the morning but thought id ask on here first as my vet doesnt seem to like us much and i avoid taking him unless i need to.
  19. thats the best way, wish i had the room! me and my lamping partner both got different dogs for that reason we got a collie/whippet x saluki/whippet and a bullx, the bullx is faster despite what ppl say about them but that smaller dog can turn on a button and has the stamina of a pure saluki which obviously wins on some quarry . with that we got everything covered that we may come across, and they work really well together on bigger game.
  20. what are you slipping the dog on? YOUR AN IDIOT FOR SLIPPING AT ALL THIS TIME OF YEAR! but if its anything in daytime in this heat its even worse, get it fit and dont slip it again till september FFS!
