    Chicken feed kept in metal bins? If not they will eat that. So where is the stuff in 100g sachets placed? what is the stuff?? rats are neophobic....scared of new things in their environment. It can take a week or more sometimes for them to even try the poison. The sachets should be put whole into the rat holes and a brick used to cover the hole. The rat has to eat through the bait to get out. They can be opened and used loose in trays in covered runs which will probably get a quicker take. All loose bait MUST be placed into a secure bait station/tunnel so it cannot be easily access

    I have had a live trap I borrowed down for 5 or 6 days loaded with peanut butter, typically caught nothing! I know they are there the little sods!

    I have got a couple of rat hole under my chicken shed, I do what I can to make sure there is no food about for them but I back onto fields and the sheds are dry and warm! Ideal for them to tunnel under. I have put poison down, the stuff in 100g sachets I saw recommended on here, but they are not eating it. What is the best way to deal with the problem myself as I do not want to go to the expense of getting someone in and poison and traps dont seem to be working! cheers

    I have 4 whippets all racing bred, 8yrs 6yrs and 2 pups 9 months. Just getting into lamping with them and trying to get some permission which is easier said than done! Great site you can learn alot reading old posts. look forward to posting!

    I would like to buy or build a lure machine, if you know a site where I can but one all well and good. I have been through a lot of posts on here about machines, but really need an idiots guide to build one. Has anyone got a list of what I need exactly and where I can get it from? But like I said I am happy to buy one if there are any out there for sale without breaking the bank! thanks Andy

    very good condition, I have had it 3yrs and have used half a tin of pellets, it was over the legal limit when I bought it so had new spring put in and is now on the legal limit.

    New to here, looking to take up lamping with my dogs (4 racing bred whippets)and perhaps a bit of ferreting with them too, looks like the best hunting site Ive been on! Just trying to get my 1st bits of permission which is easier said than done!!! Just reading old posts there's a lot you can learn. Anyone else from sunny Staffs????? Andy
