  5. Hi it was my first day out ferreting. I have never been myself before and neither had the ferret. On the first set the ferret was down for 2hrs i then had to dig four ft to retrieve it i then tried another 3 sets and got nothing. I loved the day as it was good practice. My ferret took a bit of time to actualy go down the set. (Is this normal for a new ferret?) But having to dig it out- that took ages as i didnt have a locator. Therefore i have made acomitment that i will never go out ferreting again until i have a locator.Im young and still at school and dont work so dont have much money, but
  6. Going out on sunday but weather forcast is crap, so may have to call it off. Can you still ferret in the rain or is it a waist of time?? and how long do you leave a ferret down a set before digging? Cheers SCOTT

  8. Hello people. Im going ferreting on sunday for the first time. Im just going to take it easy and do small sets. I only have 1 ferret but 10 nets.Do you think this is enough for the first outing or should I get a few more for sunday-(how many should I buy)? Thank you for your time Cheers! SCOTT
  9. Hi mate, here are the pics i seaid i would send you. This box was made out of marine ply wood. The hole box was screwed and glued. It is designed to carry my two ferrets.It has had one coat of dark oak wood stain and two coats of varnish. The black hinges are not fitted yet but they olny cost me 60p each from my local DIY shop I also bought a small hasp for £1. The box has cost me no more than £7 to make. For a shoulder strap I have used an old airgun sling, I have also attached a belt to the back of the box so I can put it round my waist aswel as my shouler to stop it from swingign when i a
  10. Hi there, im after some information and reviews on the Deerhunter Ram Reversible Jackt. I would like one for christmas so with it being quite expensive i could do with some information about them. It will mainly be used for ferreting and fishing. Cheers Scott

  12. Hi mate, ive just started ferreting and just made a box out of marine ply for the simple fact it is water proof. it quite expensive,but does the trick. I will sort some picks and will have the on my tommorow night. Cheers Scott

  14. Hi there im new to the website and just started ferreting. I have been out twice with my mate using his ferret, but this sunday i am gonna try it on my own with my ferret. its the first time the ferret has worked but i have trained it for 1 hour each night in a drain pipe for the last 3 weeks . Are there any tips or anything i should be aware of when i go. Hope someone could help. Cheers scott
