  10. Hi Lime , To be honest i think it will be very hard to train a beagle to retreive and walk to heal off the lead. I think they will hunt up and scare evrything off. Beagles are the hardest dog to train that i have ever had possibly of all dogs IMO. They have very selective hearing often when out, in the house they are easy to train but when outside they are completely different beast. When i first got my beagle i took it to a puppy class the first thing the trainer said was "oh no not a beagle do you know what you v let yourself in for " On the other hand they are great fun well behaved (so

  17. I bought this pup (stella) as a pure breed , she came from working stock i saw the mother, the man had 2 beagles and a lurcher he also showed me photos of their pack. she is now 6months old but i think she may be a cross , the vet asked me also if she is a cross. She has spots on her legs and she is already slightly taller than my beagle dog she is about17" tts. her face looks like a beagle but personally i think she is too leggy also she has spots on her legs and is nearlly all black. She is started bushing quite well now, she chases rabbits but does not open up even when my dog is opening u

  19. Thanks for your responses, the insurance have said today that they will pay out . The vet told me he was goin to put a fake (nylon) cruciate in also he was going to shave some of the bone off, he would also have to plate and pin the leg . Does anyone think it would be unfair or have any ideas what to give the dog eg tablets to try and chill him out when the op has been done as im sure he will go mad locked up for 8wks ? Another problem i will have is i have a 6month old beagle keeping the two apart will be a nightmare atb newbie
  20. Hi , My beagle dog has a tare to his cruciate its been a problem for around 3 months but now the vet has decided that he will need an op to fix it. I LUCKILY had taken out insurance around 2months before, to be honest im not sure if the insurance will pay out.The vet said it will cost "thousands" im awaiting the quote. I can take them out for a couple of hrs and he is fine chasing rabbits etc but when he gets home he limps badly, he shows no pain what so ever he lets you pull and push all of the leg. Problem is the vet said its 8 wks complete rest after the op even taking him out on a lea
