  1. every judge has to start somewhere and i think its good that you have the balls to get up and do it. so what if you havnt had working dogs for very long because you grew up with me. Doglady should take another look at my profile, thats what turbotykes been around for years. so just leave her alone and let her do her thing.
  2. yea most of them stayed dark but they dont carry the bandit mask just the white bibs. i'll find some more pics out asap. atb
  3. some of the kits my mrs bred with turbotyke. black x ferret.
  4. What are they then? supposedly they have mink in them, when crossed to ferrets they produced blacks but not solid black. but when line bred the look just like mink.
  5. it makes me mad when idiots keep trying their best to ruin sport for others and tarnish the names and reputations of many a good terrierman. youve done a good job the mate, shame you had to do it in the first place. atb A.R.D
  6. my mrs breeds black ferrets and hers tend to look like mink when they have grown. the only marks on theyre faces are the white chin and bib. but most tend to get masks. oh yea my mrs arnt pure ferrets.
  7. would never use bull in my terriers theyre hard enough. do any of you find it makes them mute useing bull and too hard? in my experiance iv never heard a bull x terrier give voice they tend to get themselfs battered trying to kill whatever theyre working. atb a.r.d
  8. is that the pup with the cuts? if it is it looks to be healing well. atb a.r.d
  9. much appreciated mate thanks for the input, im not reffering to pure breeds im refering to breeds in general.
  10. well your a bloody hard bunch to please. im just trying to start a topic on canine comformation, but i wont bother seeing as your all getting funny about it. could we cut the bad language we have children who look on here. thanks.
  11. who wouldnt be happy with a dog like that? atb A.R.D
  12. just scape a piece of raw red meat to get the juices and let them lick it off your finger, its just for introducing flavours. atb A.R.D
  13. Im my opinion, a dog that is true to "type"! it should be fully capable of doing the tasks its breed was intended for and should show the full characteristics for its breed. it can eat, move and breath without discomfort can see and hear clearly and is resistant to disease. It shows no signs of nervousness, fear or aggresion. the dog should be able to produce healthy litters naturaly and should be expected to keep these qualities throught is natural lifespan.
  14. i personaly dont use bull in my terriers. my terriers are hard enough and dont need to be tainted by bull blood, in my experiance it makes them mute and a little too hard, when you work foxes as often as i do you cant afford for them to be too hard, getting bashed up only leads to dogs being in kennels injured and rendering them useless.
  15. dont let the dog lick the wound unless you want it to get infected. keep it clean and dry if theres fur gettin into it clip it away.
  16. it all depends on the litter size and how the bitch is copeing with them, through experiance i start to introduce flavours at about 3 weeks, scraped meat, substitute bitch milk etc by the time they are 4 weeks they should be eating about 4 small meals per day and still be on the bitch. @ 6 weeks i expect all pups to be completly off the bitch, eating and drinking independantly. wouldnt leave it any later than that atb a.r.d
  17. are they boosters? how much £?
  18. it isnt right to breed season after season especially not for that reason. that to me isnt breeding its indescriminatly reproducing pups and [NO TEXT TALK] can do it. breeding takes time dedication and a good reason for doing it. its not about just letting 2 dogs shag n then selling the pups, theres so much more to it.
  19. its defo got lakey in it. could well have fell terrier in it but not the type i breed for sure. its predominantly lakey.
  20. keep it clean mate, dont use too much salt in the salt water mix or you will burn the skin, 1xteaspoon to 1 pint warm water. dont let the dog lick it. if kept clean it should heal on its own. we have delt with some monster cuts.
  21. nice pack mate the dogs look fit and ready for the job.
  22. milbemax covers a broader spectrum of worms than drontal and is the best wormer on the market, iv used panacur and iv known it to make pups sick its the same with the cheap wormers ie johnsons, shirleys etc. drontal is a decent wormer but working dogs need something to do a proper job considering some of the places they go and milbemax covers them all. But its better to worm than not to whatever you use. worm pups should be wormed @ 2, 4, 6, 8,10 & 12wks then every month untill 6months then 2-3 times per year this is especially important with bitches intended to be bred from.
