    That roughneck bar from Screwfix is fine if you want to slowly chip away at something hard in your garden but useless at prying. I'm not particularly strong but I bent mine quite easily trying to move a large rock!! The steel in it is nowhere near the quality of the old fashioned bars - it's way too soft!

    I use Kronch salmon oil on their food - you can buy it on eBay. My lurcher had exactly the same problem - the salmon oil sorted her coat in less than a month.

    I swear by a quick spray of Savlon Dry Antiseptic Skin Healing Powder before the wound starts scabbing up. It contains iodine and is easy to apply - it dries very quickly so the dog can't lick it off.

    It's always good to check for good teeth, bite, spannability and good overall confirmation. There's no point in breeding rubbish.
