Great read and great shot!

Me too! I was fretting over whether to sell the S410 TDR or the S10 back in September, the S10 stayed! Will certainly look at an HW slip over mod and as I think I'm off work now bar tax return and odds and sods until 5th Jan, it gives me a chance to remap the 800 acres and find where the rabbits are now, not where they were and also where the pigeons are coming in. All their old haunts seem quite empty at the sec, even the oaks beside the rapeseed!

You have a case for asking for your money back. Just explain it's not fit for purpose and ask either for a brand new one or your money. Be friendly but persistent and it shouldn't be a problem.

Hi all Sending this from the field on my phone so hope it works. After what seems an eternity of blanking, I found a new and relatively active warren. Tonight was the first time I've been there and not been disturbed by a dog from a footpath about 50m away behind me, up the hill. I went out looking for pigeons. Pretty much none to be seen so headed to the newly found warren to wait. Bob's your uncle, 15 mins after getting set, this crop robber comes out of the bushes at about 30yds. Gun to shoulder, squeeze trigger, exhale, feel stage 2 and CRACK! I forgot how awful the mod

Ze Collection Grows...

I've only just got a .22 97k and have to say, I love it! I intend to stop buying at 10 airguns, but have discounted the Rat Catcher and Relum Tornado, leaving me 5 to go!! -
Great guns, I loved mine and only part x'ed it after not using it for over two years due to using the R-10. Deadly accurate, quiet as anything, can carry it around all day or simply attach some platted para cord easy to service yourself (apparently, not tried myself). Only down side is low shot count, but don't let that put you off, I know very few occasions where I needed more than 40 shots on a hunting trip, including zeroing. Mine loved AA field 5.52.

That's the best looking stock I've seen in ages and the action looks about as bad as mine! look forward to seeing the progress!

Hi Buddy The weight thing is a myth. You'll get used to it, it dampens recoil and helps you keep on aim. My 2 favorite airguns are my '77 and '97 and neither of them are heavy to shoot. If you are walking around all day, you may want to fit a sling though! Oh, I'm 6' and 11st 10, so hardly a brick privy!

I've got a 30/30 Widescreen 3-9x40 scope from the 80's on my '77 and have to say that once mastered I think they're a lot more intuitive than other scope recticules. I'm pretty pants with it now thanks to Mil dots, Map 6's etc, but I feel I was as good with the 30/30 5 years ago. Be interested to see how you go with it!

I think the new mags fit in all but some mark 1's. That said, you can pick up earlier mags second hand that work fine. The S10 is a brilliant gun. Hope you enjoy it.

Really enjoyed that. Lovely looking rifle and a great set of pictures!

I love my R10, it's my 'go to' PCP. Honestly, I'm not sure if I would by new as to get the best out of them, they could do with a service from XTX, John Bowkett, Rancid Tom... the list goes on. Mine was serviced and X tuned by XTX three years ago and it's still averaging 11.3 ft lbs with very little deviation and can put a tight one hole group together at 40yds. Not bad for £550 for gun, tune and postage. All in all, a proper hunting gun. Mine's .22 but .177 do just as well if you hit the Kill Zone.

An X tuned R10 is a brilliant bit of kit. Enjoy it.

thought it was illegal now to post firearms direct to door? I know it can go o shop but didn't think could go to home addy These deliver to RFD. Not your door Ah, that would explain it then! Didn't look in to it that far.

These guys deliver http://www.theairguncentre.com Not heard anything negative about them either

Lucky lady, my wife shall never see this post.... she can tot that lot up and convert it to Mulberry handbags quicker than I can blink. Not saying I'm cheap, but if you'd asked me, I'd have grown my hair and stuck some lippy on for a lot less. For that lot, I'd be at the doctors had the change and you could have chosen the size of my NHS funded bangers! Hey ho, always the brides maid....

Is Anyone Else Itching To Get Out?
silentshot1 replied to Craig Fosse's topic in General Airgun Discussion
From being out three - four times a week to over a fortnight since I last went hunting is worse than giving up smoking ever was. Had an awesome holiday, a great Birthday bash, ran the Clarendon half marathon in just over 2hrs, surfing, a fantastic afternoon at the local clay club, but nothing quite beats an afternoon stalking. Role on the weekend!! Sun, rain, wind, snow, couldn't care, I'm out going to be out there! -
Know what you mean, I found you have to read cross winds much more accurately than with .22, as the pellets (RWS Superdome) are lighter and more susceptible to the wind. Bet the T10 is deadly accurate though, now you've had the work done to it!

Last Of The Summer Wine ...a Hunting Weekend With My Birthday Girl.

Loved that and you're so right, can't beat hide shooting both for the excitement of decoying pigeons in to a pattern and for what you see around you. Was out with my 77 on Sunday and after 70 odd shots, blowing the cobwebs off my springer technique, was over the moon with the accuracy! Love it. -
That's a lovely HW 77 you have there. I was out yesterday with my Venom tuned '77 from the same year, you just can't fault them! That said, mine has the standard stock and trigger, but it's still pretty brilliant!

So you think she's fit too then Utterly!! Ellie Harrison, hello to her! I stopped paying attention to the BBC (Townie TV) years ago, now I I've started to watch again, just with the sound down!
-
Are you able to move, Pookie? If so, I might be going out tomorrow afternoon (14.00ish dodging showers etc). You could borrow the R-10 or S-10 if you fancy joining. Could even try pumping up the S410 TDR if you need something lighter. Same hedge as before....

.177? Thought it a bit odd when you started hoovering our hide on Saturday and put up curtain rails, but .177, that's a step to far. Looks very nice mate, can't wait to see it in action! Did it come with a pump?:
