  1. I'm more Stevie Wonder than David Bailey but I'll give it a crack! Great idea!
  2. Hi Mate I recently bought an S10 from a dealer, sadly had to take it back after three weeks as the regulator was fcuked. The guy leant me an HW100 sporter as a loan gun and now I may well have to buy the fecking thing off him, it's brilliant! I loved the S10, but this is just amazing! I really wanted to not like it as well! Good luck on deciding what ever you do!
  3. what silencer is on your hw77? Hey there mate! It's a 22+ year old venom air flow thing that I've never seen on another one. I was given the gun so am not sure, thanks for the interest though, I love it!
  4. Never used a cradle but have had great success simply propping the heads of corvids up as suggested by Watchman.
  5. Hi Watchman This is not as unusual as you'd think. I used to do the same with a shot gun when I was about 14 and learning how to shoot, as did my brother and several guys we knew who learned on lighter 20's such as AYA No. 4's (very popular as a first gun at the time). My Father bought some snap caps and would load the gun first with snap caps but out of our sight, time and time again, following clays and pulling the trigger with our eyes open so we would get used to following the bird and taking the shot in a proper stance without the recoil and without flinching/closing our eyes. The
  6. My solution to your dilemma would be to buy a decent used R10. Nearly same price as a hornet but with the added bonus of circa 200 full power, regulated shots. I've never bought a brand new gun and had nearly no problems with the used ones. Good luck with your choice and keep an open mind!
  7. Was going to ask about this... I've bought a tin of .22 5.52's in the new black tin and they've been awful quality wise, chucking one in 5. Bit of a shocker really as they've been awesome up until now. I'm going to call them see if they'll replace it.
  8. Hi Mary Without going in to any great detail, I can relate on possible limitations in your choice and if I understand correctly, a reliable, light, accurate PCP is what your looking for. Have you thought about an S410 TDR? Deadly accurate, simple cocking, 50 shots unregged, 90 regged (apparently), light as a feather, hardy. These are overlooked occasionally but it's an S410 yet lighter and I've got nothing but praise for them! A bit utilitarian looking I give you, and I haven't actually ever taken it apart or put it together in the field, but bang on for the money, second hand!
  9. Hi Bob I've heard great things about the club. I keep meaning to pop by when up in Hertfordshire visiting my Parents, I was going to bring a couple of friends along. I look forward to joining you soon!
  10. I've got a head torch, used it the other night! Much easier to lug than my Night Searcher lamp and battery pack!
  11. Nice!! My wife is the reason I got back in to Air Rifles after years playing with shotguns. She shot a pigeon stone dead from a phone wire at circa 38 paced yards in her parents farmyard from a standing shot, about 14 years ago with her HW35. I've spent this long trying to out shoot her, but she was simply brilliant with an Air gun. She came target plinking last year with me, took eight shots, five shots grouped in a 10p sized group with an erratic lightening XL, got bored and went to fly model planes with her Dad. I'd love to be so good at something that it basically bored me! I'l
  12. When broken down like that, you're right! Not bad looking either. I was just thinking in terms of a straight out the box HW77. Plus £500 is not a lot of money for something that will stay in that condition, as long as you do your bit, for decades.
  13. Hi Mate I love the look of the HW77, but the TX200 can give it a real run for it's money in both looks and performance. I saw this http://www.gunstar.co.uk/Air-Rifles/Weihrauch-HW-77-gun-for-sale-gs20693.aspx this mornming but don't know if it's still available. Worth a look, although the price is a little steep. Best of luck with your decision. Two awesome rifles to choose from!
  14. Hi Bud My 77k was V - Mach/Venom tuned about 20 years ago by the previous owner and is still putting out 11.6 ft.lb's with amazing accuracy. I think that's amazing quality, considering. Enjoy the gun mate, you'll never want to part with it if you're anything like me. I'd keep the scope on as the gun is so much more than 20m target basher and can deliver at astonishing ranges once you get used to it. Why limit yourself!
  15. Hey mate, Thanks for the link, it's really useful. Cheers, .Tomek No worries mate. Chambers are a bit on the pricey side apparently, but I got a stock for my HW77 from there and they were great with customer service and received in three days. Good luck with the stock!
  16. Nice write up and congratulations on a new permission! Nice going guys!
  17. Here you go, mate. http://www.gunspares.co.uk/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=24932&cat=Stingray+MK2 I think that should do the job!
  18. Here you go Simon, photo and link http://springgunshooter.co.uk/resources/V-Mach+RACE+Muzzle+Brake++Product+Information+May+2006001.pdf The bit on the end of the muzzle is a venom designed muzzle brake. The gun and scope won a 50 meter bell target shooting competition at a game fair in 1989 with the 14 year old previous owner hitting the bell 8 times out of ten against a field of 280 or so other competitors so it's got the pedigree! After PMing you about improving my distances, I spent a couple of days paper punching before possibly hitting on the solution, by giving my right hand a quick
  19. Right then, it's been a while, but having read so many posts on here and not contributed for a while, I figure it's about time for another contribution. OK - so Saturday starts late and less than perfect, I had a pass to from Her Majesty to be out at 06.00 for the day, which I promptly slept through, only to come too, then rise at about 10.45 and spend the next three hours fixing the hoover and creating new ways of introducing Mr. Dyson to his super sucky wand and parking his garish, plastic, animal monstrosity where his Ball barrow can join it! Anyhow, finally got the majestic nod at 1
  20. I know they have a price tag that could cause a gag reflex on a banker and as Davy says, are a money spinner, but the Wingman is freakin gorgeous! If I had the cash I think I'd be tempted but I don't think I'd ever take it out! Edited to say: and I guess if you where one of those kids who didn't take your Star Wars figures out the box and shoot them with your BSA Mercury, you can probably look at it as an investment, as there are only going to be 100 made.... Not like me!
  21. Imo £65.00 for a year equates to just over a fiver a month. BARGAIN! The wine, beer, and Christmas gifts I buy for shooting permission contacts is at least double that a year, all told! As long as it's monitored and not over shot, brilliant!
  22. Also worth talking to Sandwell Field Sports. An awful lot of happy customers walking around with either them or v match!
  23. As Si says, both will do the job. Depends on what you will be doing with the gun and how it feels. All the best with your decision.
