  1. Ah, the oldest reason of them all! Mine did similar to me regarding trespassing, lamping scumbags, driving round drunk on my Father in Law's late at night blasting away with a couple of shotguns. It took the police upwards of 50 mins to come out to an armed trespass the first time as apparently they got lost from 10 miles away! My wife hit the roof and I was banned for my own safety at her demand, but I kept the HW 77 though. I ended up driving my wife so far up the wall that she bought me my S410 about 6 months later to partly just get her some peace!
  2. Hi mate Just resorrected a ratcatcher in .22 after it had not been used for over 6 years. If you can check it on a chrono, it would help decide what you can and can't do with it. The one I have is putting out 9 ft lb's so wouldn't really use it for much past 20 -25m. It still had a co2 canister stuck in it from years ago which was an arse to get out but after a bit of effort we got there!. Would probably benefit from a seals change at some point but not urgent. Plenty of after market stuff available like mounting blocks for a decent scope, trigger springs etc, but you may want to consi
  3. Wow..,. hard choice you have there! I have/ have had all of your choices, still have an S410 (tdr, but quality is the same) S10 and R10 and had an HW100 for 6 months last year. In honesty, all as good as each other in my experience out to 45m (ish), splitting hairs to point out faults (weight, shot count, noise etc, all been said before). As said, if like me you are out hunting in the main, all day when you can be, moving from area to area on foot, then I would first look at the S410 or R10. The S410 is quiet as a mouse and light enough to sling over your shoulder all day. The R10 is t
  4. Anything I shoot and don't eat goes to a butcher 5 miles away who puts £1.50 per rabbit and 40p per pigeon in to the Royal Green Jackets collection tin. As said above, you'd be pushed to make money on it as a business but as a way of giving something back, it can add up.
  5. Glad you got it sorted, I found Superdomes or AA Field 5.52 work very well in mine.
  6. Really enjoyed reading that. Thanks mate.
  7. Has anyone ever tried Banana? I kid you not, my wife's pet house rabbit goes bonkers for them. Must be the sweet taste. I've toyed with the idea of taking them out to the shoot(banana, not rabbit... yet.) but never quite got round to it.
  8. Hey mate Exactly the same, right handed left eyed, I shoot on my left as always have. Until 10 months ago I was only shooting Ambi or left handed stocks. Then I bought a BSA S10 with a right handed stock and was amazed that apart from the odd feeling at first, I could get as gooder groups as I could with an Ambi stock. I bought a r/h R-10 and again, once used to it (bit more of a razor edge to the comb) I was pretty happy with the results so have been putting off the expense in buying a new stock or having them converted.
  9. I can't knock the BSA Lightening XL that I bought for my wife years ago, as a starter springer for about £200 from a Game Fair. As accurate as needed in .22 to 40m, easy to point, well balanced and light enough to carry all day. Not had a problem with it appart from a service for £50.00 6 years in after the spring started boinging.
  10. Don't know much about Rapids to be honest, but I love my R-10 mk 1 and from what I've heard, a good mk 2 is brilliant!
  11. No better feeling than a broken dry spell, and in such gret style!
  12. I shoot with a duplex on my hw 77 .177 and am more than happy with it. The flatter tragectory makes it easier to judge out to 40 - 45 odd yards and Chair gun pro really helps with your POA , but as with all things, it's time and practice!
  13. My wife's prized painting brush set works wonders on mine... Spotless!
  14. Nothing bad to say about superdomes! They are certainly up to the job, my Super 10, S410 TDR and R-10 all .22, shoot well with them and barely a deformed pellet in the tin, unlike AA field. That said, I'm going to have to order a tin of superfields. Does anyone order them on line, if so, who would you recommend ordering from so that they turn up undamaged?
  15. I'm a massive fan! That said, there is a distinct power curve and I never pump mine beyond 160 and refill after about 35 shots.
  16. The seated position was the first position my Father taught me, describing it as the best for comfort, stability and ease of observation. Still agree with him fully. Last September I was sitting on a down waiting for rabbits and ended up with three Roe Deer grazing around me. Amazing experience and just proves that if you remain still enough, you can fool even the most wary of creatures.
  17. Awesome mate! Mine's got a sweet spot from 160 bar down to 90. Hope you have many happy hunts with it! I'm taking mine out at some point this week.
  18. And to you, mate! I have a .22 TDR (was my first PCP) and to be honest, I love it. Pro's: Solid Built AA quality - to quote the AA technician who serviced it, built like a tank. Light and compact Easy to transport As accurate as you are Easy to service yourself... apparently, never tried. Not that pellet fussy Con's: Low shot count compared to regular S410 (35 - 40 shot max on sweet spot) IMHO - TDR bit is a bit of a gimmick, I've not taken mine apart in a year. Not easy to put a sling on, but this is really splitting hairs! honest opinion is they are a great li
  19. Hi mate I once was choosing between these about a year ago, via Sandwell Field Sports, their take (and they know their stuff, IMHO) was the '95 was the better of two greats. I ended up buying a BSA S10 locally for about the same money so never pursued it, but I seriously doubt you will go wrong with either and I would love either in my cupboard. With that sort of quality, just get the one that feels right to you when you hold it. You can't go to far wrong!
  20. Here you go mate http://www.sandwellfieldsports.co.uk/ I've never heard a bad word said about their work. Tony's the guy you need to speak to. Love the pro sport! If I could get one with an ambi or lefty stock, at the same time I had the money, I would have had one years ago!
  21. Hi Lewis You can't go far wrong with an HW77, they're as accurate and consistent springer as you will find on the market. I've got got one in .177 and it's as lethal today as it was when it was first built. Good luck with your decision, what ever you go for.
  22. Rabbit numbers are down after a summer of mixy, but pigeons and rooks are up around me.
  23. Brilliant stuff. Brave and talented. She deserves all the credit she should get from it.
  24. I bought one second hand from a guy on here and wow, what a gun! Love it!
