  1. I've got a longridge as well and it certainly pays for itself.
  2. Great gun, my S410 TDR is as accurate as you could wish it to be with, AA field Diablo 5.52 or RWS superdomes, although I use the AA fields more. Hope you kept the HW80, you may find, as I and many others have found, the pull back to the feeling of shooting a quality springer becomes irresistible after a while the clinical efficiency a PCP.
  3. That's a stunning example of an HW 77 you have there. Excellent shooting to boot!
  4. My HW 77 had a Venom tune in circa 1988, and still delivers a consistent 11.3 ftLbs and one hole groups with Superdomes. Bearing in mind I keep the gun cocked for up to an hour and a half at a time when hunting (I know you shouldn't), I figure the Venom (v mach) Springs must be pretty tough!
  5. Had a couple of tins posted a year or so ago and I estimated 1/3rd of them were damaged. Since buying them from my local gun shop I haven't had a problem. I think it's a combination of the pellets being quite soft and the guy hurling them around the sorting warehouse being similarly minded. Try contacting where you bought them and explaining the state of them, it might be bad batch. I think Tony from here, another S200 devotee, had great results with FX pellets. Practically the same but a pound or so cheaper.
  6. My jacket... It's filled with almost everything else, Knife/ rangefinder / Gloves/ net/ pellets/ mags / string etc. Anything else will be rolling around in the car somewhere!
  7. Hi there, My Lightening XL loved Accupells or AA field 5.52. Both worth a shot.
  8. There's an HW 77 in the sales section for £180.
  9. Sorry had a go yesterday and, yes, thank you! A torq key and gentle encouragement with a hammer and as simple as that! Will be continuing this evening/tomorrow evening... Thanks again to all for help!
  10. Hi mate Have a look at XTX (Darrin) at XTX air on Google. He does brilliant work and chrono's. Also Rancidtom on the BSA owners group forum has a lot of happy customers.
  11. Have to agree with BASC! For a fiver a month, the Air rifle membership to BASC gives you probably the most recognised logo in UK country sports. Most land owners are at least aware of it's work. Service is awesome as well.
  12. Thanks all for replies and idea's. Tried the metric to imperial but neither worked, going to try the filing route and buying a hex key over the weekend! Not to worried about screw as have replacement.
  13. As above, Parcel Force have always been fine with 24 hr registered delivery. about £25.00 each way, I think.
  14. Brilliant shooting and a lovely looking '77. Fantastic guns.
  15. That sharp comb on my r/h R-10 saves a fortune on razor blades!
  16. In an attempt to save some money, i bought a AA service kit and instructions to give my AA S410 TDR a long overdue bit of TLC . To be honest all seems pretty good. That said, I started last night and came a cropper at almost the first hurdle, by one of the Alan screws on the top plate being worn badly and not replaced in the last tune by AA. Does anyone know how I could get this screw out, with a basic tool kit? The 2.5mm Alan key not making contact with the worn sides (not a metaphor for my sex life) and the next up, is to big.. I thought about super gluing the Alan key to the
  17. Was going to say that's it's nice to see another lefty using standard stocks! Excellent shooting to you both in that wind!
  18. Hi Mate, designed in UK and made in Korea I understand. Nothing wrong with them at all, reasonable shot count, good looks and no real problems as far as I know, but the hefty price tag for a new one was a put off. I'm sure someone with more knowledge can give a better opinion, but I looked in to one as a first PCP and did a bit of homework. If it's a reasonable price, I'd have it, especially if it's the side bolt!
  19. Brilliant stuff and impressive with the home made night sight.
  20. Hi mate Love the R-10, great rifles! What sort of shot count do you get at FAC level, out of interest?
  21. Couldn't agree more mate! Was out yesterday myself but only the one pigeon to show for it, couldn't have loved it more though!
  22. If the spring is fine and the gun is still consistent and accurate to your hunting ranges, I wouldn't worry! My lightning was great, until I bought a chrono and discovered it was at a constant 9.8ft lbs. I thought it was ruined, but truth is it had been that way for months and I didn't realise. If the gun is consistent and your aim points haven't changed then nothing has and it's just a number. 9.6 is still plenty to be hunting with at normal ranges. If it's needing a service, then there are plenty of gunshops that can do it. I was quoted £50.00 by my local shop for a service and spring re
  23. Excellent! Is that a .177 or .22?
