i cant believe no one mentioned ken gould yet. iv never had the pleasure to meet the man or see any of his old dogs work but i believe the terriers i own today are from his line. the man i got my terriers off worked a lot of kens stuff years ago and he told me that ken had great stuff. the likes of smithy sparticus and black jack of which he told me smithy and sparticus although they were workers there was nt anything special abuot them but they both produced alot of good workers. but he told me black jacj was a good worker and producer the only problem was the stuff coming from him was to ha

no way would i get rid of a good terrier for any reason. id rather sleep in a hedge with dog coupled beside me than get rid of it. i would give a friend a terrier but never sell one reason being if you help a friend out your still getting to see the dog and dig over it. and i also think no one really gets rid of a good one theres always something wrong with or some reason why there for sale. -
your right chancer obviously the older and more experienced the damn and sire is the better your chances are of getting workers. but in my own opinion i think if lets say you had a young dog and bitch and they had an accidental mating i think it would be worth taking a chance with the pups if there is a good strong pedigree behind them. it happened to me so i kept back the 2 strongest done away with the rest of the litter. i gave 1 to a freind and kept one myself the one i kept i dug on tuesday gone and he done really well in fact id say he was the quickest of all my dogs to catch on. my only

yeah gav id exercise them daily and if you cant get out walking with them buy a hread mill. i also feed mine at night it seems to settle them down. and if that does nt work il take them off ya i seen the photos of them mate there crackers all the best with them

in my own opinion i think its right in some cases to look for terriers off well known breeders. but i can see why people think big names are money spinners. we ll take brian nuttall for example and before people start jumping down my throat this is from experienc. i bought pups from him one time after reading all the books and stuff like that i cud nt wait to go over and pay him for the pups. flew over to pay him even though we could nt bring the pups home and we would have to wait another two weeks for the pups to come over on the boat. any way to cut a long story short we got into his yard s

Well the roughhaired one is 11 months hes been on few pigs with other dogs and few rabbits . He is starting to learn and is a very promising dog. The smoothhared he is 6.5-7 months now and has been on pigs as well , with other dogs ... hes nose is superb , will be a machine of a dog ...still young to push too much , so at the moment , smaller pigs , bunnies , anything to keep him entertained ... he also loves to dig . As far as using them to go to ground I personally hope that they get "too big" for that due to number of reasons but I'm not that lucky good stuff mongrel long may it
