I use an outdoor edge hybrid hunter for everything from rabbits to deer, awesomely sharp, and after use a few strokes on a diamond hone and its scalpel sharp again.

I actually rather like that, and have always liked pump up pneumatic rifles, having had most of them over the years, Sharp ace and innova, Sheridan/Benjiman etc, I dont mind pumping tbh might have a look at one if they come here.

Firstly what rifle do you have it on? It is unlikely that the scope is shot, more likely you have it on a rifle with barrel droop (springer?) it is entirely possible that you just need to pack the rear mount to bring the rear of the scope up to compensate, an even better solution would be an adjustable set of mounts, as packing the rear mount can stress the scope tube sometimes, try another scope on it if you can, and see if the same happens.

The Artemis only comes with a wood stock at the moment, they have a built in moderator in the shroud which is pretty good, you can get an end cap threaded to take an additional silencer, they are around £450 new, as I said mine was spot on in every respect, I just cant get on with that top heavy bullpup balance.
-
They are Phil, titanium cylinder huge shot count, sidelever cocking, mega accurate, mine was excellent, it did everything it should, I just cant get on with bullpups, the slightly top heavy feeling really gripes me, but iff you like em, the Artemis is well worth a go.

Absolute nonsense, I remember a few years ago seeing a lad been turned away from a nightclub at a student union, for having blacked his face and dressing like Mr T, apparently it was offensive, that very same evening clubbers at this fancy dress event were happily dancing to a rap track that must have repeated the word Ni**er 30 times over, apparently this was not offensive, hmmmm

Well done bud, enjoy. -
I agree with everything Tom said there, especially the Vortek piston seal, it transforms them, the only difference in my method, is not to use any grease on the piston, unless you want to shell out for some Ulitimox 226 go faster grease (from the states on Ebay) I use dri slide spray on the piston and all the 99s I have done have turned out brilliant, use bum slide (moly paste) sparingly on the spring and a dab of pure silicon oil on the piston seal, and whatever you do DONT use a tin can inside the piston it messes terribly with consistency, even more so on a 99, oh one last thing, before you

An accurised custom Weatherby in .30-378 -
Neither, buy a Walther LGV/LGU and see what a spring rifle can be like when put together properly ( unlike modern day HWs ) seriously mate, at least go and hold/shoot one.

I would not put any grease on the piston, I use dri slide it works wonders, and a little silicon oil on the piston seal, you can get both on ebay for very little, dri slide chain lube is the one to go for, muc off is the one I use. -

A tight fitting guide and a decent top hat along with correct lubrication is all that is needed to dampen the sound, a sleeve will do nothing, I do not like them and never use one, they are more hassle than they are worth, they were only designed to stop lube getting onto the piston seal, correct lubing is the key, not a poxy tin can in the piston, your gun pal but I would leave it out. -

Sounds spot on pal, all except the piston sleeve, if you lube the rifle correctly there is no need for one, and I find they mess with consistency in some rifles, but ye should be good when its done. -

I have never encountered a brass head either, it does look like someone has made this up at some time, the TR Robb kit comes with an oversize pin, so should hold the new one firmly even iff there is a little play in the existing hole, plus you get buffer washers and power washers, you could always send your spring off to Tinbum tuning so he can make a delrin guide and top hat to fit precisely, all for around 20 quid. -

Ye thats what was throwing me the two o rings, put whatever piston head you like on it pal, its unlikely to take it over the limit, but as always check when done for piece of mind and to stay legal, I would probably buy a T R Robb tuning kit for it, they look pretty good. -

Ye no rush mate, the more time you spend on prep, the better the rifle will be, have a look on T R Robb website, he does some good aftermarket/tuning bits for the Airsporter, there should be a retaining pin for the piston head, if there is not one, I would suspect a different piston has been fitted at some point, should be nice when its done. -

Now Im not sure on this, but that piston head looks like something somebody has bodged on, or its a piston from something else, and thst is deffo an aftermarket spring (looks decent) probably a titan, Chambers do the export piston head which has one o ring, which is the one I would fit, or a T R Robb one, if that is a piston from something else, I would be very tempted to order a new piston, as the last thing you want is the piston head moving on compression, it looks like the rifle has been dieseling from the pictures, I would de grease everything including the inside of the comp cylinder, ge
