Phil if you really wanted to try with the tx after giving it a tune, send it me and I will do it for you free of charge, I personally dont like the slow firing cycle on the new tx its a little slow for me, I prefer a quicker lock time, I would think you would much prefer it with a TBT short stroke kit installed, there really is not a huge amount to do to improve the internals of a tx the piston runs on synthetic bearings, however, a good spring ends polish, and a proper re-lube combined with the short stroke kit changes the feel quite a bit, anyway the offer is there mate.

Hollowpoints For Farmyard Pests?

Also try some H&N Baraccuda hunter extreme the ones with the cross in the top, superbly accurate in my Brocock, pack a hell of a punch, if your rifle likes them I strongly recommend them, you will not be disappointed. -

.17 Hmr Ammo New Stock, New Cost!
charlie caller replied to David Aiken's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
The .223 ammo stated is cheap, but really of very little use in the field, fmj is really only suitable for target shooting. -

Anyone Using Air Pistols For Hunting
charlie caller replied to kyboy44's topic in General Airgun Discussion
some of the .22 rf pistols especially the target type are incredibly accurate, I would have thought a 40 yard rabbit would be no problem to a decent shot, probably further if a red dot or pistol scope was fitted. -
Once "processed" IE dried,If I am not much mistaken, they take on the title of class A drugs, Also a great way to get liver fluke too

Anyone Using Air Pistols For Hunting
charlie caller replied to kyboy44's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I was about to say why bother with an air pistol, get a decent .22 rimfire or maybe a .25 and use that, with .22 ammo being so cheap I would have thought it a no brainer really over your side of the pond. -
+ 1 on the Titan spring, or the Woodfield kit which I believe uses a titan spring, no no no ...... to the ox spring horrid, twangy things that wont do the accuracy any good at all, and may take it way over the limit, unless cut down, as may the Titan in fact, but is a much nicer spring.

So Much For A Fwb Sport.
charlie caller replied to mark williams's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Good call Mark, while you are at it, de-grease everything, polish the piston, end of the piston rod where it meets the trigger sear, polish the spring ends like a mirror,yo may have to re-size the new piston seal (easy job) hold the piston in your cordless drill, spin it at a medium speed, wet some very fine wet and dry and hold it around the seal, take a bit off at a time and try it in the bore, you just want a bit of resistance, but not a lot, finally apply some moly paste sparingly to the spring and spring ends, spray some dri slide on the piston, and a light smear of silicon oil to the new -
I agree quite a shot, I see you are in Ireland Stop end, so perhaps it was an fac power air rifle? Personally I would give the Logun a miss pal, prone to jamming, and gimmicky assault rifle looks, there are far far better pcp multishot rifles out there, from any of the major manufacturers.

So Much For A Fwb Sport.
charlie caller replied to mark williams's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Its hardly surprising really, a 40 year old air rifle that has probably sat unused in a cupboard for 25 years, only to be taken out and used repetitively something was sure to go, its like buying a 40 year old landrover that has been stood for ages, firing it up and then being surprised when it breaks down, it sounds like the FWB had lots of potential Mark, I think if you get it sorted you might well fall in love with it mate, go on give it a go. -
Starting Out, What Gun To Start With...
charlie caller replied to BlackDog1's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Or a Walther LGV/LGU similar weight to a tx or HW but in my opinion, the smoothest easiest to shoot accurately, out of the box springer money can buy, oh and with a moderator, also the quietest by light years, and of course .177 calibre -
Fwb Sport Mk1 .22 Or Hw 35 Export .177
charlie caller replied to mark williams's topic in General Airgun Discussion
My mate had the 35 export stunning rifle indeed, power was around 9ftlbs I seem to remember, I guess you could always convert it to a modern piston washer instead of leather, to bring the power up, another one for you to look at mate is the superb BSF b55 Bavaria, I had one and how I wish I still had it now. -
Sorry to hear about this pal, in future might I suggest you go on banggood website, hundreds of torches at superb prices, just ordered a new solastorm torch, arrived in 2 weeks, amazing light throwing and about £25.00 free delivery.

charlie caller replied to moxy's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Totally agree with the above, especially the Digweed point, we should not have to hide what we are doing, when lawful and responsible, but I will add that a bit of tact and diplomacy never goes amiss, as in so many things. -
Second Macs advice on the tuning mate, it will transform it.
