  1. Glad you are on the mend Simon, brilliant news, all the best.
  2. Is the rifle still for sale, I know someone who will be very interested?
  3. And I would also add, a Harris is not necessarily the best bird for a beginner, they are intelligent, and biddable, but easy to mess up at the same time, owing to the. Fact that many owners are trained BY THE HAWK, a retail is a very good bird to begin with, you will be a more knowledgeable falconer training and flying a red in the end.
  4. I applaud your attitude, rushing to get a bird is the worst thing you could do, might I suggest you make 100 percent sure you have plenty of land to fly the bird before considering getting one, assuming of course you don't already have land.
  5. To be fair to the lad a 2p sized group @ 30 metres with a spring gun is not too shabby, assuming the pellets are shooting well in the rifle, a bit more practice should see an improvement and the magic 5p group achieved, I would suggest keeping to 20-25 yards as a maximum range at the moment, and working on field craft and stalking skills.

  7. They certainly do work, mine was about £30 all stainless steel, absolutely spot on.
  8. Im with you on that mate Pro sport for me everytime, or better still a Walther lgv/lgu
  9. There is also the distinct possibility that many who say "putting in for my fac" never actually bother, the cost, the cabinet's and filling in forms just puts them off, as well as what has been mentioned above.
  10. Yet more meddling by the lovely cwis and his cronies.
  11. If you did re consider posting/courier I will do it for you, considerably less and better than most?
  12. because like most rifles they can be improved with work, TX and pro sport can be smoothed out by removing the steel top hat, polishing the spring ends, polishing the piston rod and trigger sears, and adding some delrin bits, and very importantly correct lubing, especially of the synthetic bearings the piston runs on.
  13. True mate, however when they are short stroked the power drops quite a bit necessitating more preload to get the power back up, (assuming power is an important issue) the extra preload needed usually increases recoil, rather negating the benefit of short stroking, just making the rifle snappy, just my opinion of course.
  14. Its fookin not, thats why I never fitted it to Phils TX when I tuned it, much much better without that crap.
  15. View Advert Gamo magnum .22 Tasco world class scope Nice old Gamo magnum here for somebody wanting a knock about or cheap starter rifle, its in .22 shoots great and is super accurate with superdomes, fitted with a Tasco world class 3-9x40 scope and sportsmatch mounts, I have given the rifle a few tuning tweaks and fettled the trigger, which to be honest is astounding on this old model Gamo, it has a silencer and is ready to shoot. pick up S yorks, not asking a lot as it would be great for a lad starting up, so £95 quid gets the lot, the Tasco WC must be worth £
  16. Ye be ok for a fox close up I suppose, still a bit puny?

  18. Best of luck with it bud, what you going for fac air or something with a little more grunt?
  19. All I have done to it is removed the nasty anti tamper plug and free d off the power adjuster, I have set it to 11.5 ftlbs I did polish the trigger sears (probably unnecessarily) it really is one of the most accurate air rifles I have ever owned, it never fails to amaze me, I have a self imposed limit of 40 yards on live quarry, I shot a rabbit stone dead with a head shot the other night, I paced it out at 52 yards, ok it was going dark and as we all know range estimation is not easy in the dusk, but the way the rabbit fell over was astounding, I will never sell this Ultra, my CZ 511 semi auto
  20. I have no experience of the 110, however my single shot Ultra se is an absolute tac driver, with AA field or Barracuda hunter extreme, I have had some accurate rifles, this Ultra is amongst the best.
  21. Krall = Shi-e P15 = excellent as stated a good barrel clean and more baffles, and you have a very accurate, full power rifle, I only sold mine as I cant get on with bull pups, get one.
  22. I fill mine to 190, this gives a very good power curve right down to around 90-100 bar, cracking rifles the ultras.
  23. Looks like a ray gun from fookin star trek, no thanks.
