Hmmmm the 35, the export is one seriously classy looking air rifle indeed, probably one of the best in fact, the old 35s ran a leather piston seal as did a lot of stuff of the period, personally if I were to have a 35, it would be the export model, in .177, with the mod for the modern piston seal, a Vortek kit, and the barrel shortened and screw cut for a moderator, along with a tune and fettle, I can hear the purists saying "Philistine" that would make the rifle none original. you know what? I dont care, I would rather the rifle run at a super smooth 11+ ftlbs and have a shorter barrel, whil

Weihrauch HW80K or BSA Lightning in .177
charlie caller replied to IanS's topic in Gun's and Rifle's
Personally mate, I would also add an hw95 to the list, it is better suited to .177 than an which suffer a lot of recoil, and were never meant to run at sub 12ftlbs really, the Lightnings are a nice little rifle but require a good fettle to get them nice to shoot, they generally sound like a car crash when fired without a tune, try a 95 mate you will be very pleased Im sure.- 1 reply

Also to add the better quality the glass, the less you have to worry about parallax generally, for instance I have a none AO Nikon scope on my .243 I am just as happy shooting at a fox 35 yards away as I am at 300 yards, and dont really notice any difference in focus, most dedicated fixed power fullbore scopes are parallax set to 100 yards, most fixed power air rifle dedicated scopes to 30 yards, my favourite, and indeed the next expensive scope purchase will be a side focus Nikon, I find side focus brilliant, and much less of a faf than turning the end of the scope.

Im with you on that mate, my synthetic Benelli auto can go from dripping wet to dry and clean in ten mins, hate getting a rifle, air or fullbore wet through, fair enough getting caught out, but setting off in the heavy rain, no thanks.

Get a shotgun -
Why have SbS shotguns gone out of fashion.
charlie caller replied to Meece's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Well I just bought a very nice Spanish sidelock sbs with super wood, concealed third bite and side clips, the gun will probably last for the next 200 years, I have owned a few o/u but I really dont like them, I use an auto for wildfowling, but for me personally, a sbs with a flat top rib is far prettier (although I accept looks have little to do with performance) and much nicer to carry over the arm, each to their own, but for me as a game gun its the sbs everytime. -
I hope this bast&ard who done this gets kicked to death in jail

This piece of sh*t should be taken and hung from the nearest tree, I have nothing to add, I cant even bring myself to click the link. -
Bargain for someone there matey.

I agree that the trigger is better on AA rifles, however this can be sorted, but as someone who has had apart one or two AA rifles, and the odd Walther, the engineering of the Walther internals is vastly superior to both AA or HW , and trust me on this, you will not get a spring rifle to shoot quieter than a Walther lgu/lgv once a moderator is fitted, cracking rifles.

Cracking advice from all the lads there mate, I would just like to add, if you have any skills I.E bricky, roofer, mechanic etc, or even just a good pair of hands, offer some work in return for permission, it shows you are genuine, committed to your sport and dont want something for nothing (not saying you do by the way) give it a go and best of luck.

Dearer than a hooker, for that price I would want it to suck me off when I got the cold arse treatment

Si Pittaway........ The Squirrel Vigilante.
charlie caller replied to ArchieHood's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Right ok Simon well you know the guy, but I am damn sure I watched one of VHTV films that began with a brief history of the guy, and an SAS badge appeared, strongly suggesting he had belonged to that regiment???? So Im buggered if I know why. -
Mine fight like buggery over Squirrel, to be fair I like eating them, the Hawk likes eating them, so be a bit odd if Ferrets did not.

Si Pittaway........ The Squirrel Vigilante.
charlie caller replied to ArchieHood's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Thinking about it, I cant imagine Si Pittaway being overly bothered by all this shi*e, after all any antis that watched VHTV could find out info about him, and lets not forget any publicity is good publicity eh? Anyone with a modicum of sense (which excludes antis of course) can see the Squirrels are being culled humanely and used as food, fu*k the DM carry on Squirrel hunters, in fact, how do I join, -

I like the bit in the article where the rspca say such killing should be carried out by trained persons, if I am not mistaken, isnt Si Pittaway an ex special forces sniper? I think that covers the training bit rather well and with that in mind, good luck to any militant anti wan*ers that decide to go and try to assault him maybe he could include that in his next video lol. -
Just to clear up any confusion, if the neighbouring land has a pheasant shoot, once they stray onto YOUR land they are YOUR birds, they no longer belong to the person or persons who reared/bought and released them, in the way that wild deer belong to nobody until they are dead, they then belong to the owner of the land upon which they ended up dead.
-
Disgusting man, dont you know a Pheasant should be shot with a shotgun? Seriously, head or neck shot, enjoy, eat well.

As unfortunate and dreadful as it is, people killed or injured by firearms in this country amount to virtually zero, how many people are killed or maimed by drunk/drugged drivers every week, so why not the knee jerk reaction ????? Ban cars, N o of course not, even though in the last few years cars have been used by terrorists to good effect, but no, pick on the law abiding majority of firearm owners.Easy meat.
-
From the shotgun perspective boys, you do not need any land to own a shotgun, you just need to meet the criteria of a suitable person, clay pigeon shooting is perfectly adequate a reason to own one, and I suspect if you have a SGC a sub 12 air rifle ticket would automatically be granted, as for FAC, providing your ground is passed suitable for the calibre you are applying for, or above, and you meet the required standard, then there is no reason why you cant have whatever you want, most large farms are passed for .22rf and many way above, all you need do to find out is ring the local FLD give

Dont you just know from the second you walk in a shop if its going to go well or not, I have no time for arrogant, self important gunshop staff, I have encountered many over the years, but I am afraid if I walk in or speak to hubris filled arseholes on the phone, thats it I will take my business elsewhere, I hope BAR read this topic at some point.
-
They are obviously doing so well they dont need your business, but what these arrogant shop owners/staff fail to realise is people now vent their displeasure on forums such as this, not good business acumen putting the phone down on a customer, assuming the chap you spoke to is not the owner/manager I would call back and ask to speak to said person, make it very clear that being spoken to rudely by his/her staff is not good for business.
