  1. put a few pictures up and I am sure you get the advice you need.
  2. gassing is only as effective as the men applying it , ground conditions can play a big part on how effective it can be and it always must be followed up and if you have lazy neighbours it can be a waste of money
  3. I prefer the juby or the imbra to me they are a much better trap than the fenn, the fenn is light and compact and easily obtained the other two are none of these, the mk 6 fenn is a bad trap to use in the spring when young rabbits are about and if I had to use fenns to catch young rabbits I would use the mk4 [a trap that is the right size for the design] I know its horses for courses with traps but a trap is only as good as the man setting it and I think like "jubys abd imbras " there are not to many of them about.
  4. set before dinner , no reason to do anything to your snares just use common sense , check at first light
  5. get them young uns in mate ,I had a bit of bad luck with ferrets a couple of years ago so I had too start again with three kits , from day one they worked hard ,show em the rabbits and most will work.
  6. close to where I live is an overgrown bank with a few rabbits on it ,every time I walk past I see about 20 run in but because of where it is you can only trap them ,on Thursday I set a dozen traps in some very well used holes, Friday morning nothing ,the same on Saturday, I know there is rabbits in the area so what was wrong ,I thought the peat that I cover my traps with could be tainted so I lifted my traps and set two in some holes that I was sure rabbits were using, sunday morning gave me the answer
  7. out yesterday wanting a few but the rabbits did not want to bolt, had a couple of shallow digs but the rabbits seemed to be tucking up so I packed in before the big dig came ,there are lots of open sets at this place with plenty of rabbit in em ,but the rabbits thrive here for a reason
  8. my youngest lad is at uni in London, like most of the students he works part time in a pub to supplement is income ,he says it makes him smile when people come in carrying their handouts and buy beer at a fiver a pint.

  10. I think you are being a bit picky there mr muddy because if the experts were to waste their valuable time putting pictures up, then how would they be able to give you and other Sun readers the benefit of their vast [but undocumented ] amounts of knowledge ?.
  11. I used to run my dogs at bolting rabbits at this place Tomo but all that stopped 30 years ago ,this place is in a conservation area for Hares so I have to be very careful .

  22. G Waters pen and ink drawings are good enough for any one wanting to learn how to snare , there is more than enough information to get started and the rest you will learn yourself if you get out enough, lots of glossy pictures showing snared rabbits will not help you catch anything, G. Waters sketches will.
