  2. My old rabbiting mate was out netting with a crew at Corby in the early 50s , he was behind the net killing rabbits when a deer became entangled ,George did not know what to do and after a couple of minutes the deer was out and away. When the lads who were driving the field got to George and heard what had happened they were not too happy .....one of them Tommy Carlo said to George :if a deer gets in the net again do this : he then pulled a stone off of the wall and smacked George across his nut.

  8. when i was young all ferrets worked , if they were not good enough they were knocked on the head , , jills were worked loose and hobs were used on a line , the true test of a ferret was how good the liner worked and how well the man read the line , a good liner was worth its weight in gold and the man who knew its ways was worth a bit more,

  10. my eldest daughter is a nurse and sees this so called minor operation carried out daily, she says it is very painful and often goes septic and if they put you to sleep the doctors write things like "i love Norman " on your nob , then take lots of pictures to put on face book
  11. whats the point of letting them get used to a trap whats the point of letting them get used to a trap ??????? if its in it ,its in it.
  12. see an architect, he will tell you what you can and cannot have , at this stage his advice will be free.
  13. i usually catch 2/3 ferrets a season in traps that have been set for rabbits and also see the same amount dead on the road, my mate is a keeper in Norfolk and he catches a couple every year so someone is losing a few.
  14. [quote name="Phil Lloyd" post="3932212" timestamp="1430844241". Watched my old man (and his dad)...bedding in Gins for rabbits... They were a super efficient trap for burrows,...quick and easy to set,...and they got results... Folk reckoned that the serrated jaws were essential to prevent rabbits from escaping,.but, I believe if back then,..we had the choice of rubber jaws (like some contemporary footholds utilise today),...we might still be using, such undeniably successful tools... i never saw them used but i think that there were rubber attachments to fit on the jaws back i
  15. i think that the shape of the jaws on the Mk6 is wrong the power is there but it is delivered over too wide an area causing it to dilute, if the jaws tapered down to about 35 mill it would give more of a whack and less foul catches
  16. years ago i did a lot of lamping i often heard rabbits or hares squealing before they were caught or got away , is that not stress?
  17. i take pictures but they are usually of dead rabbits in traps unless i am snaring them some are alive , to me anyone who puts up a post in the trapping and snaring section without pictures probably aint got anything to show
  18. nice pictures ....keep em coming
  19. they are a very good trap, easy to set and more forgiving than a Fenn 6 . A lad on another forum put a picture up of two young rabbits that he caught in a IMBRA yesterday, a fluke but it shows how versatile the trap is
  20. CAUGHT THIS ONE WELL OUT IN THE FIELD ,IT WAS ON A RUN BETWEEN TWO LARGE WARRENS, I ONLY SET TWO SNARES AS I NEEDED A BIT OF FERRET MEAT AND I NORMALLY DO WELL ON THIS TYPE OF RUN COMPARED TO STRAIGHT OUT INTO THE FIELD TO FEED RUNS
