This is the picture of what i thought was a fox had pulled it from the hole and the buzzard took over , on second thoughts the Buzzard could have ran it in then pulled it out , we will never know but i can see it happening . That location is a small open Oak wood where Buzzards nest and within a few yards of the very first suspected attack .

I built a house for a chap a few years back and the site got robbed , he laid two doors down across the entrance that were studded with nails and covered them up , early next morning he pulled on the site and done allsix tyres on his pick up , he pulled out on to the layby and called the breakdown waggon and also his mrs to pick him up , his mrs came flying down the road onto the site in her Merc, sports and done both her front tyres.

Years ago i put a picture of a rabbit in a snare and asked the question ; what has done this ? the back legs had been completely stripped of meat and i had never seen any thing like it , there was a lot of replies saying , fox , cat , ferret , otter , mink plus the usual idiot comments , then just as the thread was about dead a chap came on and said it looked to him that it had been done by an immature Buzzard , this mad e perfect sense , Time of the year, state of the rabbit , and location , over the years i have seen this damage a few times and have actually seen Buzzards standing by ,

put a picture up mate , then some one may be able to point out what you may be doing wrong . Try to show the snare , the run and where they are coming from

I have had a look on the net and that was the first thing that came up , there was also numerous lies from various sources from all over the country stating Rabbits were a major part of the birds diet, accompanied obviously Photo-Shopped pictures, as for a Fox trying to drag that rabbit away, i doubt it ! No weak legged Leicestershire Fox would be capable of such a feat or inflicting those horrific injuries though some people [usually readers of the VIZ Book of Birds ] will tell you they will some times attack an elderly or weak chicken , these people can often be found dashing round t

A buzzard is a scrounger more than owt else ..they will take a free meal if they can get it...but they are a poor excuse for a hunting bird..their weak feet are not best suited for even trying to kill a full grown bunny...maybe the odd daft young easy bunny. That is what buzzards do to rabbits i have had it a few times though i have never actually seen one kill a rabbit , as to having weak feet speak to a man who has taken one out of a bird trap its still only scrounged it though...it didn't kill it.. crows porbably started it off and buzzards, kites etc etc will always take

had 6 wires down overnight , just playing at it really but i had a couple and a fox had another snare as well , i saw a bunch of black rabbits run into a small set at the end of the wood and was half tempted to trap it but they have a pass till October. theres what the fox left me next to the marker pin .

i have had them do damage to snared rabbits in the past and also seen them standing by them , there are a lot of pheasants left in this area and the keepers say that they are no bother but i am not so sure.

When i was young me and my sister used to catch the bus to town , we were the only ones on the bus other than two foreign ladies ,over time they used to speak to us and often gave us a sweet or a piece of cake , one day we both saw that they had numbers painted on their wrists , i thought nothing about this but my sister who was three years older than me did , some time later she asked mam what it was , mam must have been the same age as those girls, told us never to talk about it again and started to cry.

Been back to the hill this morning hoping to set some snares but they must have moved sheep onto it yesterday evening , i went over the top to the arable side and the hedge was buzzing with rabbits and the field was covered in runs for hundreds of yards i don't what had been set but it seemed to have been seeded through the stubble , i think that the runs were just to get to the other side. i tried a peg out on the tilth but it was a waste of time i really needed hoop snares but i aint got any so that was that , i was going to set them on the headland where the soil was firmer b
