Near where i live are some large rabbit warrens on B.R. land,it looks good on top but underneath its a mass of wood ,and concrete sleepers, lorry tyres,and old tree roots, which had been pushed into a dissused cutting and grassed over,the rabbits love it here. Every year groups of young lads creep on with there nets and ferrets and try there luck, but they are impossable too ferret, after a long wait they get there kit and clear off, often leaving there ferrets behind.I trap these sets with fenn sixs and check twice a day ,over the years i have caught quite a few lost or abandond ferrets u

i think think it could be the game keeper as it is part of the wentworth estate, but we do have permisson to hunt the land, but i wuold have thought if it was the game keeper he would like you say be equipped. thanks whats a three foot peg doin on a rabbit snare ? i think someone took it because they thought it might fall over and kill some f--ker

i once ferreted some sand dunes near to Heacham/Snettersham in Norfolk ,we done very well in the small setts till it came to a dig,then even a foot down was hard work.the old chap we were with said it was a waste of time ferretting the big warrens and they were not suitable for trapping either,he said, in years gone by the rabbits would be stunk out with paper soaked in parrafin, then trapped in the smaller setts .

in the 70s i caught rabbits on a very big estate in northamtonshire ,ferreting and lamping[with dogs ]we caught a lot of bunnies.then one year a new estate manager came, new man new ways,the woods were fenced ,and later, the wooden box traps were placed in position , those traps worked hard all through the spring and summer.when we came back after the shooting finished the rabbits had about gone,where we had caught them by the hundred we were getting half dozens.

i was rained off today so i went to melton market, head shot hares were fetching 40 pence, so after the entrance fee and 17 1/2% commission the seller would probably owe them, also there were only about a dozen rabbits in.twenty years ago there would have been at least two hundred,the sale of ground game in this part of the country is at rock bottom.

yesterday morning i was setting rabbit snares in,and around,a small fir wood,set in the middle of a large stubble field.in this wood are several large well used rabbit warrens, i was looking at the holes thinking i might trap them next week, when i saw a large heap of snail shells ,there were hundreds of them, white yellow and pink . there was no tree, stone, or stump near by, it looked like they had been tipped out of a sack. who dunnet ?

early in the season a wet windy night after a warm dry spell, .after the pheasant shooting ends ,a wet windy night aftera few frosty nights,wind is the killer,but after 35 years at it i found, so long as theres no moon ,just go ,anything can happen. dont go, dont get. micky

years ago ,i fed my two young ferrets a mixi rabbit,they bothwent the way you describe,never done it since. p.s. it was late september and very hot.

No one deserves to go through what they have done. Punished? No. Any working class parents in the this country would be on remand now, for what they did, and despite the media circus they now demand privacy.
