I like ot see the old ones getting with the technology You are lucky lads over there here in Ireland we have a few hot spots across the country and they are not that hot anymore, there is too much rain over here. 4. Leicestershire, the soil on this particular farm is a light loam ,it drys and warms quick, but as soon as the weather turns cold it knocks them back a month, ihave found where the land is sandy they will start much earlier than where its clay ,so you should be ok for a week or two
  5. Ipacked in ferreting this farm in january, then there was lots of young rabbits hopping about, and all the does were ready to pop, since then i have snared a few rabbits there including quite a lot of 3/4 grown,as i have not caught any pregnant does since the last cold snap i gave it another go,i had 2 hours this morning and got 21 two bucks and 19 does, two does had pea sized young ,and none of the others were showing milk
  6. I have thought about the 6 inch RBG also ,i think a rabbit might pass through one more readily than a standard magnum in some situations, also the trigger wires could be shaped to allow very young rabbits through without fireing the trap .Whats your thoughts on them.
  7. see Little Llyod, hes got a good sized lump that sits on his neck doing nowt
  8. Yes i use peg snares on fences,i have to ,i injured my hands in my teens now tieing knots is very difficult so i had to adapt,it works well enough for me though
  9. i went out yesterday and set some traps and snares[12 of each] the pick up was 6 in the snares +1 taken ,possibly by a dog,and 4 plus a rat in the Fenns ,in all ,a nice morning spent in the company of my eldest lad,who is now ,unfortunatly to big to hit.
  10. Last saturday i set a few snares on nextdoors back lawn ,early sunday morning Bill rang me and said THERES A RABBIT IN ONE OF THOSE SNARES ,ok Bill i will nip round,NO RUSH ITS DEAD, IWILL PUT IT ON THE WALL , NOT MUCH MEAT ON IT THOUGH
  11. Hi stephen, not sure what you mean re-set? the trap is fired? can see how it looks with the top bar but this is just from the angle i took the photo from, the trap fits snug into that tunnel and the spring gap is two inches wide, again its just the angle of the photo that might make it look smaller Foxy picture looks snide to me
  12. years ago ,me and my old rabbitting mate were out ferreting when we bolted a few rats ,georges old doe got a bit chopped up, george got her and pissed all over her ,head to toe, when she dried off she fair sparkled.
