i would show the picture ,if only to point out or explain what went wrong ,shit can happen and when it does you should not bury your head in the sand ,you face up to it ,take it on the chin ,and try not to let it happen again.

oh yes he did You are wrong , i did NOT sorry mate but you definatly did, you said one was an accidental catch and one you deliberatly targeted i said i killed it , it was caught in a snare that had been set for a rabbit and seeing that i snared the vixen last night ,its just as well i did

fenn traps only half catching

This is the point I'm trying to get across, some armchair hunter/trapper who goes out twice a week and sticks 10 fenn traps out max and is in cahoots with some organisational powers suddenly decides they are not humane after all these years and pushes to ban them, with there added influences... Then voila everyone has to take a course, wear a special badge or use a different trap... as I say, there are serpent's amongst us, and it does worry me. Ithink you have gone slightly off topic Ian ,the point people are trying to make is ;if the trap is set correctly, it can be more humane than if i -
over the years i've done a lot of pricing and every time the price is based on a one meter dig with no exceptions unless its specified by the architect in writing. The building inspecter has the final say on the depth ,and his opinion will be formed by soil conditions ,trees, and how well he knows the builder.

Your wasting your breath Axe me old mate........I have already pointed this out to the pen pushing barrack room lawyer.........but he knows best....! I'll have a bet, a pound to a pinch of shit, he wouldn't know a the difference between a Fenn trap and a mouse trap, and has never set either. He can show me no legislation that says a cage trap has to be inspected daily or even when shown the law regarding the inspection of spring traps.......he still denies it. Be very wary of people that cannot back up there claims with hard facts.......And he gets paid for his advice.....ffs...lol..! E -

Should've been a sign showing a tunnel being constructed on a CNC machining centre.............. 'cos we now all know that unless the tunnel dimensions are absolutely spot on you'll catch feck all Anyone can catch various creatures in Fenn traps, its just that some people who pay a bit more attention to detail will kill them while they are doing it. Do I take it that you may be starting to pay a bit more attention then? not to you mate. -

over the years i have caught a lot of rabbits in Fenn 6s i find them OK for adult rabbits in tight burrows ,for me the problems start with young [small] rabbits on the railway embankments,if the trap has to much play or is not alligned at the same angle as the roof of the tunnel you will have a leg catch, the trap can allmost throw off the small rabbit but still catch it by the upper part of the leg [ and we all know what that means ] if the trap is set at a bad angle, in some instances this can lead to a head catch which is not to good either, a fenn in a cubby usally works how its intended -

What about Fenns findings and research, they must have put an hour or two into a bit of research and testing, are you saying they have got it wrong too ? answer in as many syllables as you like ,i can get one of the grandchildren to explain it to me, and then ,perhaps spend a few moments explaining to you, on the correct way to set a Fenn. -

That's not the intention, and though they are designed to jump when sprung, they shouldn't be hitting the ceiling. A correctly set Fenn should be able to catch no matter how high the ceiling. The Fenn trap was designed to kill within the confines of the tunnel or hole, not to be used with free space above it. I have categoric proof of that in the form of development documents written by the inventor (amongst other things) So, the Fenn does have to be set so that it can fire cleanly but no more, big holes or tunnels are no good, simple as that. OTC The 'tunnel' is purely a -
