the gasing has been going on for the past 2 years they are probibly trying to cover their backs by announcing that they are thinking of doing it now Dog On you are spot on mate. If they have been culled for at least two years maybe more why is the TB rate still going up in the cattle?.There are loads of badgers where I live but no TB in our county, I know there is badgers in France , have they got TB ? do other animals carry it?

did you know from the beginning? if not when did you know and did you make the authorities aware? also I seem to remember lots of posts on the forum saying how bad it was that this family had not received the same coverage or help as the McCanns.

Louis is a bright boy. Far too clever for the people in his shows. He just takes the piss and they cant see it. I watched the one with the extremists in the US they couldn,t handle him.

There is always a rush to look for "blame" when it comes to these issues. The police the media and society in general are usualy targeted. Some blame the Mcanns for leaving their daugther alone, some say the young girl in Yorkshire should of been met when finishing school. Are WE all perfect?

who said anything about it being "glamourous" ? I hate these types of b*****ds but the story can still make a good film or book for that matter.

there seems to be a media type move at the moment towards highlighting the "I'm a hard man, look at my hard dog " type chav characters that we see on estates with the staffy or some other bull type straining on the lead etc, probably part of this "take back the streets "thing.

Flying pigs use a similar method. doh! Mavphil, Are you saying sparrowhawks don't take pigeons? GOOD GRIEF! do I have to spell it out? Of course sparrowhawks take pigeons! what they dont do is kill for FUN. Their energy is precious, if they are sated they dont fly, any BOP keeper will tell you they have to be lean to fly. If they leave a kill its because they are have been disturbed by something (usually people or dogs/cats) ,. A pigeon is a good feed for a sparrowhawk and it would not need to feed for a good while after eating one. It is also wise to aware that people have a habit of

as you say most people who go pigeon shooting go out to shoot wood pigeons and if any one cant tell the difference between the two shouldnt be allowed to own a gun let allowed to use it ,and also the rspb have installed false nest sites for peregrines [fact] and just look at the decline in song birds and say its natural balance if all pigeon men /women kept there pigeons in when the peregrines are breeding half of them would starve to death as they wouldnt find enough food to feed there young i find that utter bullshite there "just look at the decline of song birds"! song birds get taken

It annoys me so often on forums when people ignore the facts to justify their own views. The RSPB have NOT introduced or "Installed" any birds of prey in towns. Only ospreys and red kites have been introduced in some rural parts of the country and thats because they were nearly bloody extinct. The birds in high buildings in towns are nearly all Peregrines which have increased their numbers since the banning of DDT and other pesticides. another factoe in their success is FOOD more of it means more of them! No food and they start to die out GET THE PICTURE?. Go abroad to towns in the MED or even

None british? will that include premiership managers, surgeons, chefs and some royalty?

i've read quite a bit of stuff on this issue. The research seems to be very divided, and the politics have become complicated with farming unions and conservationists trying to score points. I would have concern if a large scale cull went ahead and it turned out to be the wrong move. I live in Lancashire , we have plenty of badgers and dairy herds but almost no incidence of TB, the ministry tested road death badgers here and did not find one infected animal. I also understand there was an increase in tb in parts of Cumbria after foot and mouth when testing of cattle was relaxed to quickly rest

I admit to "lurking" , the thread has been interesting, its one of those issues that will always be emotive. I personaly would not worry that there is a strong difference of opinion amongst hunters on the forum, that's life basicaly and it's often the case with many groups or organisations who follow a common interest...... For the record , if I were an outsider looking in I would have to side with CROW, hunting calls for the utmost respect amongst it's practioners.

GS woodpeckers will also rob nests you know, they may of even done for the long tailed tits. shame about the Jay, they often get a bad press when they are not nearly as common as the magpies.

If you don't vote, you shouldn't complain, many have died so others can have a say.

people often go on about " Its only because there is oil there" when it comes to Uk and US picking fights, which is most likely true in most cases. But these same people are often the first to complain when the price of petrol goes up or the cost of living increases. the fact is, cheap resources have given us all a relatively good life, if you think goverment policies on this should change then you have got to be prepared to accept the consequences. At the end of the day its how much money a man has in his pocket that decides who he votes for (or if he votes atall).
