  1. good shooting chap, i have been out in a couple of woods recently after the pigeons and both times i saw a fox trotting across the field, lucky for them they were out of shot. .
  2. Got a field of rape next door to my house which has been hit hard by the pigeons for the last 10 days, finally found out which farmer farmed it so went round to ask him today. . off to try it sunday if weather is ok, its the only field of rape around here and the rape is poking up through the snow.. But i know what pigeon shooting is like this time of year,1 bang and they say c ya. . oh well got to give it a go and waste a couple of hours. Did get a job out off the visit aswell so thats a bonus
  3. keep the distance the same chap, a 20b has still got the same killing force as a 12b, it throws a tighter pattern then a 12b and 20b cartridges still have the same power as a 12b just a little less lead, i take my 20b out on occasions would take it more if the shells were not so dear. i take my 410 out aswell sometimes and keep the pattern the same distance. happy shooting
  4. Merry christmas all, and a happy new year. .
  5. Beet tops are good this time of year if there are any about near you?? I dont really rate rape much anymore there is far too much about and although i have still had some good do's, not nearly as good as it used to be at this time of year, better when its been harvested and the pigeons are not in big flocks, also sprouts are good specially in the snow because they stand tall. . Roll on spring time when we can start shooting some decent bags again atb carl
  6. now then chap, dogs tails can be docked in all working dog breeds, they can be gundogs terriers etc, other breeds can be docked for other reasons aswell. . there is a website with all the information but cant remember it?? hope this helps atb carl
