was thinking about these for low light rat shooting. i understand the physics behind it, but surely they would be great for shooting over pre baited spots from pre-determined shooting. ie baited up area, and shooting spot paced out and zeroed and same again, next bait placed and paced out to the same range for the shooting spot?

ive had some success with sassy. she is an oc bitch and has done a little. she is however to big to be an out an out earthdog. but has bolted a few foxes to date and is keen to start the winter doing any legal pest control. nothing special but does the job and is a first rate top dog thats all you need mate.

exactley. i use the frontline on the dog , then do the living quarters with a can of spray that disrupts the flea breeding cycle, it lasts up to twelve months. again its expensive but you cant put a price on the dogs living in constant discomfort.
-
i always use frontline. its pricey but its good.

surely every terrierman/woman has been a first timer at some stage. and if every one that bred terriers never sold, ( sorry gave) a terrier pup to a first timer, pretty soon terriermen and the working the working terrier as we know it, would be no more. surely every terrierman/woman deserves the chance to prove themself, as does evey dog????????

Thanks for that mate, what is the best way to do the retrieve? Slow, fast, bit of both? stop start? The few pike I have caught have only been small jack pike but wanna try attract a few bigger ones. I used to fish the canal a lot, and the local lake where there is loads of pike, in summer they can be seen basking so I know there defo there but its hard to find where they are and even harder to get one to feed while its basking.. on the canal try fishing round boats/boat yards or anywhere people feed the ducks. anybread that gets thrown in to the ducks that they miss sinks to the bottom and

cheers for the replies everyone. yes hes had his jabs. got him out of the car at the vets, he looked much better, took him in, she had a feel about, he was proper playing up to her. the vet gave him a little water. he was fine with that kept it down, by this time he was almost back to his normal self, she said he must have eaten something he shouldnt have, kept an eye on him through the night, and hes back to his normal self again. not cheap out of hours vets, but it certainly put my mind at rest.

was on hold to vet as i typed message. off to the emergency vet now as it is out of hours for my vet. will keep you posted.

i think the disease was the worlds first contageous cancer. massive tumours on the face and neck was wiping them out. then i think they found an isolated pocket of them somewere. and took one and isolated the gene that was responsable for the tumours and then innoculated the others giving them some resiliance against the disease. makes you wonder how they can do all that in 12 months to stop the tazmanian devil being erased. but they have been fuc@ing about for 40 yrs or more trying to find a cure for the human disease to stop us being wiped out, and are still no nearer than the day they start

went for a little mooch yesterday morn looking for a few rats. long story short. we entred a hen shed and got possitive mark off the dog in the pen had a dig and the tunnels kept branching off, the rats were giving us the run around. out came the smoker, that did the job. we had 5 in the pen, and as we came out a rat bolted, and eli took off with the last captured rat still in his mouth into a bramble patch, he came back empty handed(mouthed) we had a little look around tonight and saw a lot more rats round the same shed and got permission of another chicken owner..

also if the house is a semi or a terrace, you might need to look at your neighbours properties aswell. they could be gaining entry 4 or 5 doors down and making their way down the cavitys.

we had the same problem with my mates kennls a few years ago. we got an old piece of hard board placed it near one of the runs and baited it every night for a week with liquidised cat food mixed with the oil from tuna. after a week sat in the bathroom and knocked 10 off with the airrifle on the first night. numbers went down after this. the place was infested. we decided to watch thelad that was paid to clean the kennels out. all the uneaten food was being thrown over the wall onto some waste ground instead of in the bin. the place was swarming. we finished off with a few tunnel traps with mk
