    this injury didnt happen to me but someone that i know. one of the local idiots used to walk around with a mastivex american bull dog.used to wind the dog up all the time and intimidate people with it barking and snarling. he did it one day, teasing the dog, while it was on the lead. he was rushing up to a young lad, and then dragging the dog back when it got a few feet away from the young lad. the dog was well revved up. anyway about ten mins later when the idiot thought his dog had calmed down, he let it off its choke chain. the dog went straight to the young lad, grabbed him by the calf a

    couple of days to house break.picked him up on the thursday, done for sunday.(apart from a couple of accidents). great with stock, hens ducks geese turkeys. took him among them when he was really young. picked it up really quickly what was fair game and what was not. you do get mixed reports/reviews. but for rats and rabbits, they will take some beating. cant coment fairly on the digging side of things, because i dont use mine for earth work. but have spoken to lads that use thiers week in week out during the winter.but as your not interested in the digging anyway it dosnt matter. only thing

    went back on the plots this afternoon. after last sunday getting ten. i wasnt expecting a big bag, but i did notice a few escaping last week so my fingers where crossed. on arrival the weather was in complete contrast to last weeks monsoon. glorious sunshine, and people everywhere. i unloaded the smoker,spade, stick and eli, and set off on the short walk to the hen shed. i let eli off the lead, and he started casting about scenting. the allotment holder wasnt about this afty so we had no access to the cabin or the run, but there is always plenty of junk about for old ratty to shelter in.

    yes mate. he was probably just over awed by the whole experience. take him on his own next time, and see if there is a difference.

    anywhere you have permission, that has rats on. a good place to ask is on any local allotments that have hens on. the allotment holders tend to be a bit more approachable than farmers. get a little bit of permission first then you can take your time asking the farmers.

    as above but dont let the rat out of the trap for the dog, cos that would be illegal hide the trap with the rat in, and let the dog find it using his nose. let him get interested in the rat running backwards and forwards, then take him away. next time you get a rat in a cage same again with the trap, but hide it in a different place. cover it with junk, branches timber old carpet. whatever is at hand. when he gets interested in the place the rat is, move the junk. this will reinforce marking. the dogs interest in getting to the rat should increase each visit. the dispatch a rat and let him

    i try and use a bit of hyraulic hose if poss. because it can take the heat without loosing shape.
