  1. hi mole. i know all shops should chrono every gun they sell. but i know of one shop that didn't check any rifles for at least 6 months, because someone shot the chronograph, and it never got replaced for ages. I took a rifle to get checked, and they told me they couldn't do it, and why. then i took another there 6 months later and was told that they still hadn't replaced the chronograph.
  2. How good are the r10s, as opposed to the hw 100 or the rapid?
  3. That's just a bit too far mate.
  4. Hi guys. as the topic title suggests im looking for a small hob to line a Jill. i would pay for the privilege of using some bodys hob, either a cash payment, or a kit out of the litter. im in Preston lancs, but would travel a few miles for the right hob. i would also be open to do breeding at the other parties property or at mine. thanks
  5. Think you might be right mawders. just had a look and i can't find them anywhere. think they are only available from 5.53 - 5.55.
  6. I can only find em in 5.53 mil. not 5.52. makes all the difference.
  7. Is anyone else struggling to to get hold of these in 5.52. ????
  8. I use the 13-25 inch. most of my shots are taken from a sitting position as i have a bad back and i find it near impossible to get in the prone position and arch my back to get my head up to look through the scope. the Harris is great. would buy another.
  9. Sorry. i wasn't very clear on that. i mean in h&n ftt. i was using them before my firing valve went. Then when it got repaired, it wouldn't touch them. important just wondering if im now using the wrong size.??????
  10. No, but i thought mine needed doin last yr. was pellet on pellet pellet out to 45 yrs then it just opening right up on the groups. checked it on the chrono, and it was all over the place. i sent it back to hull, and it turned out it was a faulty firing valve. sorted now.
  11. Are you guys using 5.52 or 5.53 in 22??????
  12. I like to shoot all my quarry as cleanly as possible. I've seen some shocking things on youtube . people shooting rats anywhere. shots at the back end of the animal. not nice to see them scamper off in agony.
  13. I've bought 2 second hand ones in the past. and never had a problem with either. then last year i bought a brand new 22 ks and had a problem with it after 6 months. it needed a new firing valve, it was sorted under warenty but it was the new one that needed attention.
  14. Work 2 big hobs and a small Jill. the bigger of the 2 hobs is just an out and out killer. but he never stays with the kill. just moves on to the next one. not ideal in any case. but if a warren needs emptying, he does the job. we drop him in with the locater on, and if he's still for a couple of mins, we put a marker stick in the ground. and then dig down. It does the job on small buries but would be hard work on the larger ones. he is a grafter though. and wouldn't like to be without him.
  15. P.s the mittens where only 6 quid from army surplus shop.
  16. Bought a pair of green thinsulate mittens that fold back on themselves to reveal fingerless gloves. they are the warmest gloves I've ever owned. my mate has raynauds syndrome and as a result has terrible circulation problems. he lost his fingertips a few yrs back to frost bite. he gets special battery operated heated gloves from his specialist. and he says the mittens are warmer than the battery gloves. the main thing with any gloves, is to put them on while your hands are warm. because with your hands being extremities, they are very difficult to re warm.
  17. I have the tay sport muck boot. had em for 2 yrs now. will deffo get another pair.
  18. Whats it shooting at power wise.
  19. The rod numbers need to correspond with the line weight pal. if you buy a 7/8 rod that's the line you need to use to load the rod up on the back cast. small rivers 4/5 weight. commercials 7/8 should do ya. maybe take 1 lesson before you start. it will make so much difference. wish i did. then you have no bad habits to try and undo pal.
  20. Where is the step by step guide folks??!
  21. Had a 99s for about 6 or 7 years, and out of all the rifles I've owned this is the 1 i regret getting rid of. its as easy as that for me. brilliant little rifle. would have another anyday.
  22. I had 1 for a while. it had been blue printed. but it was unbelievable.
