    put a couple of big feeders up at different ends of the perm. get yourself tucked off before first light, then wait it out. once they have found the feeders they will come back every day.

    also if your using cage traps and finding the rats trap shy. try covering the trap with a piece of old carpet. rats are naturally inquisitive of tunnels, so if you make it look like they can get in 1 side and out the other its odds on.

    I know this is an old thread, but just a few tips for some of the other replies. if your using dog biscuits as bait throw a few loose ones out, then superglue some to a board or the ground ( if its hard standing) then you can pick off the rats as they are gnawing at the biscuits.

    Got mine on a hawke airmax. i was thinking same. changing over to a different scope. but had a play with the paralax re focused the the ns and results are a lot better. one thing i can tell you, is that the lens quality on a 40 hawke scope is no different to the lens quality on a 300 pound hawke scope. they use the exact same quality lenses in all models.

    I own the kt and I've never been the biggest strongest bloke. and after a bit of recent ill health and losing a stone and a half taking me down to 9 st i still manage with the ns 50 on it with a large hawke scope. I've previously owned 2 full length versions and if im totally honest the full length are a bit quieter, but don't seem that much heavier. they are still very pointable.

    I had a 99s a few years ago. had it for 6 or 7 years and it never missed a beat. was the most consistent springer ive ever owned. it loved the superdome pellets. it was bang on. If i could re own any of my past rifles it would be that one.

    I want to swap my hawke airmax scope6-18x44 sr12 ret for an Mtc mamba or mamba lite. love this scope but i want something with a lower mag and side focus for ratting with the night vision. Plus cash your way. cheers. Preston lancs.
