  5. Hiya all, i've had a hob for the last two years ( found him while out walking ) so unsure of his age. Was thinking of adding a couple of jills do you think he would except them after all this time alone ?
  6. we managed to a.i them ourselves but it was the 18th day of my bitches cycle so will have to wait and see what happens now
  7. been ringing around all day but no vets in our area do A.I so that's not an option. going back tomorrow to see if he can get the hang of it, but not got high hopes
  8. its not going well at the moment, bitch is standing for him but he's not hitting the target!! One last try tomorrow............ fingers crossed. Bitch is 24.5" and the dog is 23" will post pics if breeding goes well tomorrow
  9. yeah some top dogs in the breeding, really hope the breeding takes. think the pups will be very strong animals. Bailey the sire is a fantastic looking animal
  10. Hiya all, just thought id share this as excited about how these pups will turn out if the breeding takes. Mating my whip/collie/grey/bull to a first x whip/grey The sire is bigland bailey out of bigland boy x mismatch mini. The sire's breeding includes the likes of head honcho and top honcho. I know a lot of people have different verdicts on whip x grey but this dog is stunning. should make some very strong pups capable of holding their own in whatever you decide to do with them. Fingers crossed all goes well!!
  11. thank you, genetics always confuse the hell out of me! could never grasp it when I bred finches as a kid either!!
  12. hiya all, just wondering if anyone has any knowledge on genetics?? is the merle gene dominant? i.e will a blue merle sire produce all blue merle pups?
  13. not 100% sure what this is? pic isn't the best, it was a fair distance away
  14. is a lovely looking animal. i am after one very similar to that when i get back. whats the exact cross you have there. cant wait. cheers Not 100% on the exact breeding. sire was a track greyhound and dam was a mix whippet/collie and a dash of bull i think. sire was never worked but the dam did work on rabbits
  15. she was bought as a whippet/collie/greyhound but i think there is a dash of bull in her breeding too. shes my first lurcher and im really pleased with her. great prey drive with her although she lacks a bit of brains sometimes!!
  16. No problems with frost down here, its just been pouring with rain for the last two weeks!!
  17. Been a very slow start to the season for me due to one thing or another so decided to snatch the opportunity to pop out with dog for a quick shine tonight. (although it was only 8;30pm!! ) only had to drive for 5 mins to some of my local permission which i havent lamped before walked 4 large fields with only a couple of rabbits spotted and none of which i could slip the dog on. Rabbits were very lamp shy so im guessing someone is walking it fairly regular at night. Decided to try my luck somewhere else but on the way back to the car we came across a squatter in the middle of a recently ploug
