  1. I know some of the other lads on the forum have done this before but this was my first ever double which I thought I would share When I noticed both side had gone off I was quite excited and "over the moon" when I saw 2 moles. The duffus trap is a Flat Pack one (it pays to buy the best) which I had tuned thanks to the good advice I had gleaned off the forum. Ta, Dave.
  2. Great video and I like they way you can see the pellet fly to its target Dave
  3. http://www.fieldsportschannel.tv/ have been doing a feature on the biggest fox shot in Britain and I reckon you should send them the moles pics above cos he is a beast of a mole
  4. Agreed - Talpa or Talpex will do the business
  5. Hmmm - the day before the game shooting season finishes maybe???
  6. Great review Si - very through and very informative. The bit with the blu-tac on the pellet showing how small the last group came out at was amazing. atb Dave.
  7. I found this guide really good if you are new to using the Talpex trap:- https://www.theflatp...&products_id=39 They also have one for barrel traps too:- https://www.theflatp...&products_id=17 I bought my Talpex traps from these guys and although maybe not the cheapest they are the genuine ones:- http://www.ratbait.c...-trap-490-p.asp Ta, Dave.
  8. I would have thought half barrel traps would be the best as they are easy to disguise if you cover them back over lightly with the removed turf. They are a lot cheaper than trapline and talpex traps although I do love talpex traps :-)
  9. Good post - here is a clip from You Tube which confirms what your saying:- Maybe the makers should take note and bring out a new version with a lighter lithium battery?
  10. Got mine done last year by a chap called Andrew Bird in Jackfield which is just down the river from Ironbridge if thats any use?. I think it cost me about £4.50. His number is 07973 526551 atb Dave
  11. Make a bucket trap:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jezQKOl5q-w Water in the bottom is optional.
  12. My homemade wasp trap made from a 2 litre pop bottle
  13. I have just got 15 new duffus traps from the flat pack company and have read that ideally they need a bit of tweaking - i.e. bending the triggers. Could someone tell me how much they need bending and a couple of picture of before and after tunning with the trap in the set position would be brilliant as a guide please. Thanks, Dave.
  14. Talpex from www.ratbait.co.uk work a treat too and worth having some along with duffus traps from flatpack. I have both and once I open up the mole tunnel go with whichever feels right for that trapping location.
  15. I have had that with a Talpex trap - trap gone off and mole dead beside the trap but not in it. I guess it had been dealt it a glancing blow as it was a genuine Talpex so strong as hell. I added that one to the tally :-)
  16. Funnily enough I bought a mole catching bag today. I went to the army surplus place in town and got this rucksack. I have taken 2 pics as it can be doubled in size and is big enough for my spade and dibber. Cost me £12 but should last for years. Keeps my hands for opening gates etc.
  17. You could use google maps to get a satellite view of the field - print if off and put in a plastic see-thru pouch so its water proof then use a permanent marker pen on the plastic to show where your traps are and the numbers as an memory jogger. Ta, Dave.
  18. Yes spot on mate - sometimes money is not everything.
  19. Yes I agree - for about the same money you can get genuine Talpsx traps which catch both ways and are easier to inspect. However I thought I would post the link so folks can make their own minds up. Ta, Dave.
