  1. i totally agree with your posts, but lets be real if someone comes on a hunting site trying to sell a dog because its jacked or what ever, he is not likly to say anything but "personal situation forces sale" we all know what it normally means, most faults in a dog can been seen when its out on a shift working its quarry, which of course this is what everyone should be doing if there buying a dog which some one is saying it can do this that and the other.. ie watching the dog do what it apparently says on the tin........i have to add i dont think iv ever seen a dog advertised on the net or an
  2. patrick, iv read alot of your posts in the past and thought you talked sense, but i read this one with astonishment..... i find it hard to beleive that someonethat has talked so much sense in the past can come out with a statement like "call it what you will but bird shoots are ALL about planting birds and then blasting them............ you need to do a little more reserch, what about the wild life i / we encourage back into our country side by the endless hours of vermin control we do?? I took over one of these so called canned shoots four year ago, in the first few days that i

you having a laugh???? how do you kill a rabbit!!! there is something tellng me you shouldnt be getting into ferreting if you need to ask that, it certainly dont take a genius to work out how to kill a bunnie... im still waiting for a punch line... or is it a ex member coming back to take the piss......
  4. i cant beleive some of the responses on here, i keep bull x lurchers ( staff xs of course ) i would have no problems taking them out un leashed in public...no matter what lurcher you have it should and can easliey be trained NOT to attack another dog... it aint the dogs its the people training them thats at fault.... i do agree with baldie but if the artical was true then any lurcher owner that has a dog that will leave a warren to attack another dog , shouldnt be allowed to keep a yorkshire terrier let alone any thing else.... ali
  5. doxhope has got it right, one of mine will go out , course a bunnie, catch it, kill it, drop it and back to slip..... i use it for vermin control not sport or to feed my kennels/house so i am not bothered what it does with them... she is the best connie catcher i have, she will never go any where...... my other bull x will retrieve anything back to hand just a natural retriever, and like wise i would never part with him ali
  6. come on lloyd your letting your standards slip, surely this should be in general talk, how come your not etc etc..............

  11. alright, iv been looking for someone to come out on the estate and work there birds, i spoke to a guy i met breifly who seamed mega keen, but i never got a phone call to follow it up, so was just wondering if theres any one up this neck of the wood that would fancy a day or two out..... boss bought a day with the perries and pointers on the grouse this august at the gct auction, hoping for a invite to that, but i think i will have to plie him with a few first ali
  12. not all terriermen do it for just the sport....its also called vermin control... dont know what the others that you have talked about have been up to though..... but yep collar him up put him to ground and find out that way, as no matter howmuch advise you get its only the dog that will give you the truest answer ali

    Rook food?

So you believe that the death of a 100 rooks is worth it to save one pheasant do you? I,ve known dozens of keepers over the years, and sadly , most of them think like you, you and your sort belong with the victorians, and their methods of vermin control, and its you, and your sort, that will see game shooting banned. it is no secret, on here, that i,ve no time whatsoever for game shooters, or keepers, you fuckers didn,t support the hunts, before or after the ban, so dont bleat on to me about livelyhoods. Game shootings house, is f*****g well out of order, and always has been, think on, i,m o

    Rook food?

Absolutley 100% spot on with that mate and i could not agree more.. .. Rook's are not vermin in my eye's they may play a small part in the destruction of crop's and the odd bit of other stuff but they dont deserve to be slaughtered in the mindless way they are.. I know farmer's spray crop's for the worst offender's of them all that are below ground.. but do these pretend or real keeper's spray.. .. Do they sit out at night and day keeping check on the voles/rabbit/hare/deer/partridge/pheasant/pigeon.ect.. that will do more damage if on the land than any coloney rook's could ever do.. som

    Rook food?

baldie, as iv said i / we spend a thousand pounds or more planting game cover every year, so your saying i should sit and watch the branchers grow old and then grub up all my plots dont make me laugh... your right there not the most prolific egg stealers/ chick snatchers but they DO do it, so if every 10 or even 100 i shoot saves 1 pheashant then im totaly justified in what i do..... molly is entitled to do what she is, it shows that not all us hunting folk are totally blinkered towards death, but it dont mean that what i / we do is wrong..... or you going to tell me different
  20. well well well.... yet again a thread has been deleted, and why well my guess is because someone dont like people disagreeing with them in the part of the thread that was deleted a certain mod, who i must add was the first to replie to the non hunting related request in question( see top post ) but when a few flirty comments were passed between a couple of members(not me) they got the hump and gave us the speal of " this is a hunting site for hunting related things and dont use up site space with this non hunting related stuff " so why replie in the first place if this is how the

    Rook food?

when people go out to as you say put a bulge in there pants, more than 95 % of what is shot are young birds, thats why its called branching, there not out to purposfully shot adults, if they were decoying adults on drilling i could see your point ( well sort of) i do it every year, not because i enjoy it, i mean looking vertical all day with your twelvey going off every minute or so aint my idea off fun, but when it comes to watching them all grubbing up the game cover etc that we spend not hundreds but thousands of pounds putting in then i see why i do it. i agree with you 110% that there wa
  22. if you have a 14 month old dog that needs bringing on then why would you be asking for a bitch thats UNDER 2 years old....???
