  1. so what happens when that big fox killing lurcher picks up his pup and shakes its guts out, remember it would only take a split second to kill a dog of that size.. top advice
  2. out of all the dogs iv trained / kept the gsp was by far the hardest , it was like you were ..... if you are planning on working him alone there will be no need for training him to "back up" another dog... as long as his obidence is good, and he points game, holds that point and then flushs when you and your gun get up to it then you wont go far wrong,,,, good luck
  3. sounds like your doing all you can,you should see a marked difference around your bins once all the natural food dissapears for the winter.. as long as you have bins in all the bits your planning to shoot then thats all you can do really.... get there by 7am on sat and sunday and see for your self which direction and time your birds are heading out.... the maize WILL help you alot, f..king grand stuff for the pheashants, can put too much fat on a bird though
  4. got to agree with the posts above, but the only worrieing thing for me would be that it looks like its barking at the fox in the photo to
  5. 100 percent FARMED DEER ... there is no way on this earth that a heard of reds would stand out in a open park like that in the middle of the day, esp when all the hinds in the first picture are looking at you as if there about to be fed or be spooked.... i get reds in the park next to the house regular, and i also have a red deer farm next door but one to the estate were i live, and im confident that my judgement is right..... seen to many times to belive this one...... jmo

  18. agree 100% kye,,, your taking the term "working a terrier sore" a little far..... its silly to compare this to us walking on fractured ankle, running a lurcher with a broken toe or flying a hawk with a broken wing.... no one has ever come close to suggesting that you work a terrier with a broken jaw
  19. nice post mate agree 100%
  20. sorry to hear pal.... but a third of a dogs skin?? that takes some force surely?? if there was that much force involved then im sure the small puncture would of been bigger..... how would a better shin of made things right/better ?? im sure its shin was the last of the vets worries if the dog had lost a third of its skin.... whats your thoughts or suggestions on breeding good skin???????????
  21. snoop.. the main problem with dogs being stolen is that theres a market for working dogs.... the people that buy the dogs have no idea of wether or not its been stolen or if its a genuine sale... so if by putting tattos or freeze marks on your dogs stops it from being sold on then the theiving scum will eventually get sick of making money by pinching and selling someones pride and joy and will move there sticky fingers else where.... if the demand drys up then the need to supplie will stop....
  22. every one has a right to there opinion, but one thinks theres alot more talked about on this forum that could stir up trouble, iv never heard a anti complaining about selling dogs....... i agree in principle with you that peddelers are tits that aint worth the ground they stand on, but putting a stop to the classifieds is a bit ott... its a sad fact of life that theres scum in every walk of life, and no matter how hard you try you will never get rid of them... having to post 50 decent posts on the forum wont putt all them off, as we all know peddlers are in it for the money, and a few hour
