These are all reasons I imagine what made the B25 feel nicer than the longer and heavier sporters I have shot with. I would prefer to buy just one shotgun which I can use for both clay and game and therefore a lighter gun would be nice. Does this make sense? I imagine that I can just use lighter 21/24g cartriges when shooting lots of clays. I'm going to try and sit on my hands until I have picked up lots of different guns.

Mohammad most popular boys name of babies born in britain last year
Nik_B replied to steboro's topic in General Talk
Just so we aren't all panicing too much, virtually every muslim male is called mohammed where we normal people try to chose names that are individual for our kids. Having said that there is no way in hell there are only 2.5 million of them. More like 5 million at the very least. -

can you keep a rifle in a shotgun cabinet
Nik_B replied to hiho's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Where would you keep the ammo though? Isn't the difference between the two types of cabinet that one has a seperate lockable box for the ammunition? -
It's a start at least Gun club would be a good idea, my FLO liked that I was a full member of one and even said he would have no problem with me getting a FAC as I was a member. At least you get both the FAC and SGC in one go and as you say get a variation later on down the line. ATB

I think alot of people chose a dog because of what they look like rather than looking at what they were bred for. From what I have read dogs tend to revert back to their basic instincts when excited or nervous, my Lab for example will pick up the nearest object in this situation.

I had my visit today and yes I was also terrified The main things they want to know is what experience especially regarding safety and that you know enough about the guns you want. Secondly they want to know that you have thought through your security requirements. I only put in for my SGC and the first question was "why do you want a shotgun?" which I was expecting but didn't give my rehearsed answer! I was also asked what kind of guns I had used i.e. over under / side by side and what type of bore / cartridges. I suspect this was to gauge my knowlege about shotguns. I was also aske

Interview went well and he has put in his recommendation. Should have the ticket next week

I could ask the shop owner....never thought of that. I just assumed you couldn't test ride a shotgun.

It's not the recoil that is the problem, I am having lessons with a BASC coach so my mount is ok for a novice. My problem is that my shoulders are weak due to various problems I have so holding anything heavy up can get a bit tiring. About 4 years ago I injured my right shoulder and because of that stopped doing any kind of upper body exercise as I was scared to do any more damage. I tend to pull neck muscles easily etc etc. A year ago I had an operation on the shoulder which has gone well but my left one is a bit shagged as well. I need to start doing light shoulder exercises really.

Cheers mate I might nip back to the gun shop and try a few more, So far the only gun I have picked up which felt really nice was the B25 but it's alot of money for a 2nd hand gun even though they are supposed to be very good. Not tried any S/S yet but a light over under should be ok. The guns I have used so far were fitted with KICK-EEZ recoil pads which are supposed to be very good. The only other way of getting a lighter gun is to go down the 20 bore route but the cartriges are more expensive.

If all goes well next tuesday I will have my SGC and will start to look for a gun. So far I have used a 28" Browning Citori which I don't like, the grip feels too big. My coach brought his 30" Miroku M70 which I shot very well but it felt very very heavy, in fact it was my left shoulder that was suffering rather than my right and I am right handed. I have also been in a gun shop and tried out the Berettas which I dont like the feel of maybe the long barrel again? The owner of the shop has a similar build to me and suggested I try out his Browning B25 B1 with a 27 1/2" barrel w

Someone posted a chart showing the percentage of meat sold in major super markets that is halal....I was horrified! Waitrose ALL LAMB IS HALAL The rest of them ALL NZ LAMB HALAL! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1315278/Top-supermarkets-secretly-sell-halal-Sainsburys-Tesco-Waitrose-M-S-dont-tell-meat-ritually-slaughtered.html

There ya go typical.........run away. Yes I am going to go to live somewhere else. I can't do anything more than vote and make my voice heard....even the latter will have me pegged as an evil racist. I am not going to lose anymore sleep over it and ruin my own life. I shall go and live somewhere nice, and if they move there I'll move again. One thing I wont do is fight or what ever....why should I end up in prison or have my hard faught SGC taken off me cos of Labours f*cked up imigration policy. I recon Cons are sorting this stuff out, we're stuck with the ones we've got but it's

The bit that is most suprising to me is that the BBC report this....normally they wouldn't dare blame their brothers over here and don't forget....the BBC never call them terorists...they are freedom fighters or insurgents or any other stupid name that avoids the obvious. At least the Con cap on Imigration will stop hordes of them coming over here to abuse our benefits and generally take the mick....saddly it's to late for the villages I grew up in as they are increasing in numbers at an alarming rate....we'll be moving house as soon as possible Such is life!

I bought a pair of Le Chameau Chasseur leather lined wellies a year ago. They are a bit too big for me so I've ended up wearing extra pairs of socks. Thank god they are a bit big!!! My feet still get cold with 2 pairs of thick socks plus wellie liners and the weather hasn't even turned yet! I am now having to pay up for a pair of neoprene lined wellies. I am buying the Le Chameau ones as appart from getting cold feet they are very comfy and very very hard wearing. I have flat feet and tend to wear the outside heels on shoes down quickly. I recon the leather lined wellies would be excellent for

1 Year old Labrador with dry skin
Nik_B replied to Nik_B's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
The skinners food arrived today....he loves it which is a good sign. He never really liked the Hills food and only ever ate it when he was starving which for a Lab is unusual! It will be interesting to see if his coat improves. I have also given him a Frontline treatment just to be sure he hasn't got fleas. Thanks for the advice! p.s He liked the raw egg.....took him a while to pluck up the courage to eat it though -
I've had a call from the FLO, he has recieved the letter from the doctors and its all OK! He's coming next week and asked me to get the cabinet fitted which I take as a very good sign. I am over the moon!

I started cutting my own personal budget about 2 years ago when it became obvious to me that there was going to be a huge resession. The Labour goverment carried on spending borrowed money (so called fiscal stimulation). In my opinion this gave the average person the impression that there was nothing wrong and things were going to get better. So the man in the street carried on as normal in fact benefiting greatly from reduced mortgage payments. In my opinion it was painfully obvious that something nasty was going to happen but it was only this year that anyone seems to have taken notic

Doctor has replied to the police but annoyingly not copied the corespondance to me. They should have recieved the letter today or tomorrow. I completed the last of 5 lessons with a BASC coach today and my shooting has improved in leaps and bounds. While it has been expensive I've really enjoyed having a profesional coach. In contrast the rifle club I shoot at doesn't have any kind of coaching so you just learn by trial and error which after a year I must say is becoming less and less fun. If the SGC comes through I will probably drop the rifle shooting and put the money saved towards more

I fired a few rounds from a magnum .44 when I was in Oz about 10 years ago. The recoil was fookin scarey, even more scarey was the light trigger pull. Also fired a glock 17 which was a bit more sensible.
