    I just went to give them there supper. custerd (jill) would not come out of the sleep box for her chicken. slinky eat all his. custerd finaly came out took a bit of food and went back in. slinky tried to climb in the sleep box but custerd started squealing. i could see slinky was not tuching her so i dont no if she was just scared but she kept on squealing till he left. he is now in the sleep tent and she is in the sleep box. both in the same cage so i hope they will be ok

    they were ok for the first week. he will still sleep with her but getts nasty when he wants. funny thing is he is the soffty with me. sleeps in my arms and never nips. yet she has niped me lots of times

    the hob was born in the rescue so he was done when young , he then went to a couple for a few years but was returned after the cople split up. so he has been a pet ferret. the jill was used for breedig and was handed over to the rescue when she was to old to breed. she is 6 and the hob is 4

    i have email the rescue to see if they can shed any light on it as they had them for a lot longer than i have

    iv only had them a week and a half and they have been ok till last sunday when it started

    yes there are from a recuse. just check on them and the hob was having another go at the jill. he was trying to put food in the sleep box and wanted her out. iv had to leave him in the run for now

    yes one is a jill one is a hob. they are both done, so thought he would not try to mate her

    My two rescue ferrets had a fight on Sunday. I herd screaming so ran to stop them. Being new to ferrets I found this worrying. Today they had another fight. There was a lot of screaming. When I went to look the Jill was shaking in a corner. I gave her a hug. It worries me to hear them screaming like that. Should I be worried or is this normal?

    the cage is called The explorer made for most small pets like rats ferrets or as you said chins. its all metel with plastic trays which make it easy to clean. mine both use the litter trays. i put towels anywhere i dot want them to poop and it works as they see the towels as bedding

    I had the same problem, when I broke the necks they still seemed alive. So what I do now is whack on the head and then break the neck to be shore it’s dead. I know people say a whack on the head will bruise the meat but I never had a problem will bruised meat. I eat all my rabbits and they taste great.

    it might be a gluten intolerance, put him on a corn based dog food, removing all wheat based stuff from his diet. wheat gluten can cause cysts and skin irritations. Autarky is a good dog food as it is wheat gluten free,Chappie,is also good.

    thats so sad. and so upseting for you. i dont understand why people steel them. i have herd a lot of stories of ferrets being stolen so mine are in a locked outhouse just to be safe. hope you catch the bugger

    i see it like cats. how long have we kept cats as pets? yet any cat will go out and kill. like i said in another post, i used to have a cat that took rabbits. dont matter how you treat a cat it is still a hunter. same with ferrets. I think any ferret can make a good worker no matter how many cuddles they get at home.

    my two rescue ferrets are small. the hob is long and thin, my jill is not so long but still small small jill small hob

    i use the heavy pet bowl, same one i use for the cat.i also have a corner dish that you fix on the cage got it of ebay. i thought ferrets wiggle all the time anyway lol so i dont bother that they seem to try and get back on the floor as soon as i pick them up .
