  1. She looks a lot tidier and will benefit for her trim, but look at that face on the second pic " where's me Feckin fur gone "
  2. Its held at the derwent hunt kennels, Lurcher, terrier and ferret show. Normally starts around 12pm booking in and judging around 1pm. Only a couple of stalls... food & cans of beer, bloke selling plaques and tombola/ raffle stall not much to do or see but a canny day for a bit craic
  3. Have not been to this show at Raby Castle but heard its a good day out, unsure if there will be any ferreting stalls but On the Sunday North Pennine Ferret Welfare will be holding a full ferret show with the winner qualifying for wolsingham grand final on 4th Sept

  6. well you need to change your training tactics if you need a chicken leg to to get them out the hole, a ferrets nose is sensitive so how can you say it would not hurt, how would you like a small kick in your Gonads.. just a soft one ?

  8. Interesting thread.. not sure if stoat x ferret can produce offsping but, ferret can with a mink or wild poley so who knows.. keeps us updated

  11. Doubt its adrenal if both jills are getting it at once, sounds more like mites or a skin condition, skin scrape at the vets is your best option.
  12. And chance leaving the mouthparts in to cause infection.. tick twister or a dab of frontine with a kiddies paintbrush every time for me if just a couple of large ones.. for an infestation.. frontline spray sprayed on a rubber glove and massaged all over the body

Best tick removers on the market.. and you get two in the packet, one for nymphs and one for the big ticks.. only £3 - £5.. best £5 ive spent

Just make sure you have lots of raw meat with bone in, in the freezer ( rabbit, pigeon or similar ) if not get them chicken wings, mince, chunks of beef, offal, occasional egg and some dry ferret food to mush down with warm water.. and feed them the meat/ mush when they start leaving the nest ( about 3 weeks old )

  19. At 6 weeks they would be best fed 3 or 4 raw meals a day, and vary the meat, if you cant get game chicken wings are cheap and the skin fat and bone will help them a lot, also try heart and chicken livers all available from the big supermarkets or butchers.
  20. Totally agree mate.. my local rescue has had to close the doors to taking in any more and thats before any kits have turned up.
  21. Get a couple of litter mate jills, ferrets prefer company and you may need two when out working even if the warrens are only 8 holers the can still give a young un the run around
  22. That must have been each.. still very cheap though, its about £20 - £25 around my area
