  1. Here's a link to the article about putting riflescopes on longrange handguns...interesting read and examples of distange guns. http://www.handgunhunt.com/promo/membership/features/readNewArticle.php?oid=12&title=Rifle Scopes On Specialty Handguns
  2. That's actually a .460 Weatherby Mag.. It kicks the piss out of you in a rifle....dumb b*****d to shoot it in a handgun.
  3. I'll admit I am not well versed in UK govt. spending. However, government is government. So I would imagine your gov. cuts spending the same way our's does. Puts it in perspective, huh ?
  4. I fired a few rounds from a magnum .44 when I was in Oz about 10 years ago. The recoil was fookin scarey, even more scarey was the light trigger pull. Also fired a glock 17 which was a bit more sensible. A friend of mine who has more money than sense recently purchased a .500 S&W . It's a beast. I shot it......once.
  5. Last year for my B-Day, my wife got me a T/C Encore .204 Ruger, stainless steel w/ a 16" barrel. Since I wanted to be able to capitalize on the round's speed and performance, I put a rifle scope on it as opposed to a pistol scope.Come to find out , alot of long range handgun shooters do that. Learn something new everyday. Anyway, I have been loving long distance shooting with it. Just a hell of alotta fun. My next one is going to be one of these and then chambered in for the 6.5x.284 for use for open country antelope and mule deer. http://www.weatherby.com/product/rifles/markv/cfp
  6. Glad somebody is putting venison in the freezer. Me and the Airedales are going to be hitting the coyotes in force later on this week, coons Dec. 1st. Looking forward to some night fall good times. Great write up and pics.
  7. I've been involved in HRT's for about 16 years now....the high potential for something to very wrong is always a very real possibility. I am trying to wrap my head around why in the hell a fragmentation grenade was used. Diversionary/distraction devices ? Sure. Haven't figured this out. I have gnawing feeling it may have been issued accidentally.
  8. at least the job would have been carried out professionally I understand, friend. And I could see where it would rankle. Maybe, maybe not.... http://www.eliteukfo...ons/basra-raid/ Aaron, please don't think that I was having a go at you guys over there. Your lads put their lives at risk to try to rescue that woman, it's more the way the story was handled by the American news agencies that got to me..

Anything else is pathetic and sad.

  13. My death row meal would be a stew my wife makes using wildfowl, beefstock, burgundy wine, various veggies ( carrots, peas, celery, mushrooms) and served over noodles . Just something she threw together one night using some leftover mallard and Canada geese and it's been a sought after item ever since. Also, chorizo and eggs with diced green peppers. Is haggis actually good ? It looks like it could be.
  14. Anyone wanna fly out and the road trip out to Idaho for a wolf long line ? Wow....can't imagine it .Alotta big gear involved ,though. http://trappingtoday.com/index.php/2010/07/10/idaho-approves-wolf-trapping-in-2010/
  15. As a Native American, I can tell you the Europeans didn't do anything that we hadn't already been doing. Had a poor crop this year ? Let's head North take it from the Iroquois . Fishing in our area not great . Who cares !! Head East and take grounds from the Cherokee. It's all relative.....nobody is a "true" Native. As the Elders used to say,"An intelligent man recognizes a superior opponet." Do 2 wrongs make a rights then Aaron? Tribal feuds are commonplace all over the world, when you look at history theres allways one group trying to take something that belongs to the next
