80lb !! what pellets shoot accurate to 50yds with your gun bud? what size is the barrel & mod type? cheers
  5. I use a old pillow case , must be 20yrs old , its been soaked in light oil rung out & a quick wipe over does the trick, some of my rifles i had from the 's & still perfect.Do not forget to use a pull through , as what you dont see, may be the problem if your rifle left damp!
  6. Hi, such a shame, they're good prices. If I'm up your way anytime soon, would it be ok to contact you on here? Kind regards James you certainly can, give me a couple of days notice if you want fresh, unfrozen.
  7. Just perfect results every time with a 6.5 swede, well done.
  8. pm more details bud, caliber, serial No etc. whats incl, mod, berrel, etc etc? thanks
  9. These is only 1 worth having , unless you running dogs. clueson 2(small light/powerful & perfect) use a Roo,(better than l/f) for dog running they will give you 2m c/p.
  10. When i asked for 243, it simply said 243. The dealer sold me a 243wssm , just that bit faster /flatter.
  11. pitty your so far , we have overloaded our game dealers, but Christmas is on the way. All meat grollacked & intact. bunny £1 goose £5 3 brace of pheasy £14 venison £1.50-lb
  12. these lads will be helpful.. http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewforum.php?f=113
  13. Best round out there, when the 17 boys realise, there will be a shortage of these 22H rifles...as above with sub 1" groups to 150yds. lil'gun 12gr 40/45gr heads. pes or Dm mod, over barrel. Lovelllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyy
  14. what ever your budget is , get the best you can afford. I use Bushnell sportsman 3-9x 40 perfect & the freezer is full.
  15. A cheep bunny basher is a 22 bolt or semi-auto rimmy, @ £40 per 500 shots, not much use at over 50yds to be honest, they will shoot more distance but the kill impact is useless, over 100yds. Vermin control best is the 22 Hornet, for 25-200yds, a heavier head than the 17 @ 30-45gr you can bash anything, bunny, fox , cheep to reload & a suoerb round. fox & small deer 223, good to 300yds+ accurate , relativly cheep to load. when applying put at least 5 guns down, it makes them feel good about taking one off ya, so 4 will suffice,,
  16. 243 or 308 or what ever, even 270 cal..i used them all in my 30yrs experience, & what i shoot varies. I needed a small deer cal, a large deer cal & a good clean kill, & less meat damage the better, I opted for a 6.5 swede cal, after using & seeing it as a favorite cal with hunters all over the world. It solved the problem of cabinet space too. 1 rifle many uses.
  17. Hello, Tricky...tis one ! Have you tried a good Rapid 7 ? Maybe worth having a chat to someone who has
  18. Thats very good, well spotted. Thanks
  19. I recently bought 1 from aman in Lancs , £200 !! A real nice person, i too was but he told me a friend of his goes to the USA & buy them there for 40% less, than the uK price. The scope themselves are a very underestimated optic. I had both Lupold & smit/B & the fullfild II faired up superbly to 500yds , with superb clatirty. For the ££ I know what i would purchace. Fullfield II 3-9 or 4.5-14 , the signature series are alittle more ££, but long range targets with this optic are made a lot easier, at 500yards +
  20. Great read, experience pays off. Thanks for your comments. I always took for granted, on a outing the rifle only had 5 shots at most on deer, or fox ! & on returning home the rifle would be cleasned & pulled through. So, there is no issue with barrel wear.
  21. Here we go again. Using mil spec 5.56 in a gun proofed for .223 is a seriously dumb move. Up to you but if you value your face don't do it. Me, I'd go for a .204 but then I'm in love! Ric NO NO NO !!! PPU 223
  22. I tried bith 22-250 & 223wssm, the wssm is far better, zero'd at 200yds , fox & deer are not out of reach to 4/500yrs.
  23. I am in the head scratching mode of which cal for my variation , fox & small mammals. I used a 22-250 with far too much crack, a 223remmy, was ok, the hornet not quite the power for deer, & a 223wssm, i was very impressed. The wssm 223 was far superior , over the 22-250 & flat to 200yds zero, the 223 cheep to reload & mil sup ammunition is available cheep. So which direction should I go ?? 223remmy to 50/55gr 22-250 to 55/70gr or 223wssm 45/70gr Give me a clue lads, which wich is witch I was scratching the idea of 223, because 223 is 223 ,wether 223 remmy or
