  1. Noticed today one of my ferrets has an egg sized lump just under its chin. Must have grown really fast! Any ideas what it is?
  2. Anyone had a go at hand rearing crows or similar birds?
  3. Thanks very much, hope she turns out as good as her mother.
  4. My Springer with her 7 week old daughter.
  5. My Beddy whippet with her first rabbit, trusty springer did the hard work, flushing it for her, then taking it off her and retrieving live to hand.
  6. Hi,

Sorry no they've all gone now.

  7. Is anyone interested in taking on a 13 month old lurcher bitch. I'm asking for someone who hasn't got time for her anymore and its a shame. Think she is collie x greyhoung mainly. Good with kids and livestock apparently. Phone Steve on 07891120129. Cheers.
  8. I have 8 ducks need re homing. One pair hatched last year, one pair hatched early this year, and four hatched this year I don't know if they're ducks or drakes. Would like £30 for the lot to go together. I think they're khaki campbells. Tel 07773172133.
  9. Anyone got a pic of these 'miro ferrets'???
  10. I've got some micro ferrets, I keep them in with my dragons and fairys....
  11. sorry mate got a few piss takers on here. :thumbs:and from the pics you will see me beagles mark(setting on a burrow)where as me terriers would be half way in there only there arse showing diggin like a fckn nutter.nice to work a different way.new to me but doin ok love me beagles. Fair play to you. I just had the idea a pack of beagles worked the same as the fox hounds, careering around on the scent of rabbits and it always puzzled me that there would be any rabbits above ground with all the baying etc. Cheers!
  12. No not taking the piss. Not new to hunting. I don't hunt with beagles at all it was just out of interest. I thought beagles tracked thier pray until they caught it, I didn't realise they just waited for the ferrets to bolt them.
  13. Why am I suddenly reminded of a certain scene from Pulp Fiction...? :clapper: Spider caught a couple of flys....
  14. How do beagle packs catch rabbits without the rabbits just going to ground??
  15. A point to consider is that if theres many ferrets in one compartment they all tend to jump out when you open the box. I find it much easier to have one or two in each compartment to save messing about if you don't want to use them all at once.
  16. Thanks again for the advice! The dog is just coming up to a year. i haven't been out really with the intention of catching anything yet. Just walks in places where there are rabbits and got a terrier and springer that flush quite a few. Be nice if she'd catch one or two!
  17. For me it depends on what your going to do with him, before you do anything , have an understanding bond made with the dog,, if its a lamping dog i'd start him on the lamp, dont over tax him, keep an eye on him after a couple of runs, praise him when he comes back after knocking off the lamp,,,If its mostly for day work ,, bit of training in the field before entering ,what he will do at home may not happen when out, hunting is the ultimate distraction to running dogs, and trying to train in the field after entering is like trying to hold back the tide, many ways to start, ferreting, mooching,
  18. Just wondered what peoples opinions are on the best way to get a young lurcher working on rabbits....?
  19. Thanks for all the replies! I mixed it with some value gravy and they ate it grudgingly, the kits ate it aswell. As to getting free meat, where do you suggest? Cheers.
  20. Ok cheers mate. Looks like I'll have to borrow one again.... If you use him to soon, there is more chance of his tubes re-joining Yeah he only had it done 4 weeks ago anyway. Didn't expect the jills to be coming back in season.
  21. OK Thanks for the advice I'll keep trying. Don't suppose its any good for kits?
