  1. So then...for the sake of argument.... all things being equal between the only two pups from your litter EXCEPT one is undershot... it all comes down to eenie meenie miney moe in the event you can only keep one? I too have seen undershot dogs do as well as any, and give them the credit they are due. But who here would choose the undershot dog on the idea that there is no difference? I wouldn't.......
  2. If your breeding workers the decision seems obvious......But pay now.... pay later??? If it's your line of dogs... sooner or later you'll pay... either way.
  3. Sorry... I always forget. http://www.apbt.online-pedigrees.com/public/printPedigree.php?dog_id=357026
  4. Suits me champ. We'll all sleep better now with you having shared it.
  5. Good luck with the pup mister.
  6. With all due respect mister.... they don't need to be crossed with anything if they are bred right. Most I have seen are entering everything they can at a very young age. But like all terriers they owe their existance in part to the terrier men in your part of the world. I know people who HAVE made the cross here in the states with excellent results.
  7. We've had dogs collected and stored it, and also sent frozen seman to Australia to help a friend. We're about to try a product called ovuplant on a bitch that is three and has never cycled to bring her into heat. It's supposed to be like 90% effective... and if it works it could be used to cycle bitches at appropriate times. We'll try it for the first time next week. i dit artificial insemination once at one of my boerboels. the bitch didnt hold the stud dog so i asked the vet how to do it. normally they will check the sperm but when you have had pups from this dog already i dont
  8. Maybe so...... but just out of curiosity....... do you know all the jobs that jagds are supposed to do?? I am not suggesting that these dogs can't do them...... and I have to be careful it seems unless I want to be accused of "hyping them up." But these dogs are like any other in that there are men.... even generations of families that have dedicated their lives to producing dogs that do some pretty amazing things NATURALLY. I've had whole litters that at five weeks old were swimming out over two hundred feet and returning to shore. The parents were hunted to ground... and they tracked lik
  9. They really are just like any other type of dog in that there is good and bad. They aren't super terriers or the next great thing. I think people get caught up in the myth of certain breeds of dogs. There isn't really much point in making them into anything they are not. But if you have a need and do your homework you can end up with a dog that will do whatever job you put in front of it.... or die trying.

  11. what the jagd can do above a patterdale? i am only into digging why have 2 dogs from same kennel-they could both be shit?try a dog and try a bitch out-whats wrong with that?they vary in size quite abit from what i have been told?you want to slow down and read the words tidy pal-instead of trying to look the big i am?im happy with my line-but always open to improve them-if i can-what terrierman wouldnt?you jagd owners are a right little bitchie lot fairplay to you. More bullshit.... but somehow... I expected it. Listen champ.....I don't care what you buy... or sell.... breed or shoot in
  12. By the way..... if you were only interested in what "the jagds can do above"..... why ask him for the "small digging type?" And if the dogs you've been feeding and breeding for the last fifteen years are all you need.... why ask him to help you import a unrelated dog and bitch to the uk?
  13. I wouldn't have posted the PMs on the public forum but that's me.....That said he didn't reveal anything other than you were asking him if he knew where you could get a good breeding pair, and in his defense.... I doubt he's had time to get use to the internet pissing contests where people try to prove their dogs worth to people across the world with words. I hope you are feeding the best Bobby....nothing would make me happier. As for myself I'm only looking for good enough for me. @Bitchie....I personally know of German jagds that are dug to regularly..... Sure most lack the grit they us
  14. Sounds like a bunch of bull spit if you ask me.....These guys in eastern Europe don't have to sneak around or beg permission to hunt their dogs. I haven't seen them here hocking dogs either.......I haven't heard them claim they were better than anything else.... I haven't heard them say they were anything but good enough for them. On the flip side we've got a bunch of internet experts here either outright speculating on the quality of dogs half way around the world..... or some he said she said second hand someone I knew way back when hunted with something THEY thought was a jagdterrier. Hunt
  15. Sounds like the dog has a ton of hunt.... and good homing instinct. I can't even imagine wanting to change that. But I guess it's all situational. Here he'd be a keeper for sure.
  16. Good to meet you Vitaliy...... I hear there are very good jagdterriers in the Ukraine!!!
  17. She's a nice one Fonzie! She could pass for a jagdterrier for sure. Makes sense... they all trace their roots back to the same place I guess.
  18. I've worked docked and undocked and it never made much difference in the brush. The rest of the dog gets all cut up anyways.... I dock every litter the first week... I try and shoot for day three like Bobby says but sometimes let a day or two slip. Don't know about an older dog.
  19. I heard through the grapevine that Don Devine recently passed away at the age of 87.
  20. I'm gonna try my luck with another after hunting KawValley's half russell half ebt Darby. She was bred to Hoss1's Hoss dog who I believe is some kind of russell. Don't know much about em really. The sire and dam are good workers so I have my fingers crossed. http://i686.photobucket.com/albums/vv224/wohleb12/399258_127935734029237_586644815_n-1_zpsac101c64.jpg
  21. He looks like an old Eli pup. Congratulations man. Hope he makes you proud.
