Get a load of nasty ole Geese. Bloody things. The offer of the rotty on the previous sounds a good idea. Great family pet but will have the bark and looks to scare. Even though they might deserve it you really don't want the dog to maul someone. One thing theres always a risk of some sort of backlash from it and secondly it will be a terrible mess to clear up. How about a gun that shoots rock salt or even better Oven cleaner in the eyes.

Finally got it. Went over a friends garden last night to sight the gun in. New tin of H&N FTT, unscrewed the sights and screwed them on again. Started off at 10' (roughly), all shots landing in the same spot through the same hole pretty much. Adjusted the sights until got centre, then moved it out with fresh target. Took 2 or three shots then started to tweak the scopes a bit more and so on. Reached just short of feet away (which i believe is roughly 25 yards) and stopped there as I wasn't comfortable shooting accuratly as the target was so small by then. I was hitting the bull on the

Sounds like me the other night. Think it was due to my hand still being weak. (excuses)

You mentioned befoe mate your leaning on a bench? Have you got something soft under you or the gun?. Jack Was leaning on a wooden bench no cushion under arm or anything was shooting ok like that. The other night was lying on grass prone position.

Thanks for replies so far guys. So if you are a great marksman how much more distance could you get with a PCP compared to a springer is it a vast difference?

Think I better stick to 10 yards first lol. I have reset my sights to see if that helped with my problems on my other post. It's annoying as i was doing well at around 25-30 yrds the other week. Hitting the O in the letter P on a pampers box lol. Was about the size of a 10p although I was resting on a bench at the time. Need to start from scratch again now.

HI, Just a quick question, i know it's probably been aske don here a bit but what is the average hunting range of a springer air rifle (in particular HW80K). I know it all depends on how accurate the individual is but what would you say is the desired hunting range? Any help appreciated Thanks

Ah sorry didn't see the bit about Bluing bit out of my price range think i'll make do with the rust lol. I'll try at 10 metres with a cushion like you said.

The split goes from the trigger straight back horozontilly (spelling) about 3 inches. It's still fairly tight but might fix it up with a couple of self tapping screws. The stick isn't too bad and a rub down and oil should bring it up nicely. The safety is unusable and has rusted so that it is off (which i suppose is better than on). No moderator although thinking about getting one. I'll reset the sights tonight and start from scratch. Need a new tin of pellets so will get some air arms or FTT i think. Been thinking about it and even if I sell it for £100 I won't get another decent rifle and I

Hi Everyone, Been a while since I have posted due to the arrival of baby and also breaking my hand. I have a Weihrauch HW80K which is currently in a bit of a state and thinking of selling it. I aquired the gun from a friend in the hope of taking up hunting but I am currently unable to hit a target accuratly with it 10 metres away let alone kill a rabbit. Had a go on a friends Air arms s410 which was extremely accurate and also another friends springer which seemed better too. I keep thinking I must be doing something wrong but I everytime I go out I can't even zero it as it's all ov

One of the main breeding grounds is Porthkerris down here. I think they have started to show in small numbers. Will let you know when they really puck up but it's usually from end of this month onwards.

Hi Everyone, After recently aquiring a HW80K rifle I've been looking at stripping it down replacing parts and tidying the whole rifle up. Does anyone know of a good guide available that takes me through through step by step a bit like a Haynes manual but for Weihrauchs. The barrell is rusty and the stock has split. The safety is rusted into the gun so is permantly off (at least it's not on). And is it worth fitting a silencer on it? as people have said before not to bother. Any Advice appreciated Thanks

I feel depressed now thanks lol. Looks nice there. I'd like to fish that beach, is it any good?

Bloody good idea

No not yet mate i'm planning on sighting the rifle in using them and giving them a shot this weekend. I'll take a look into that glue. Should work a treat. Cheers Adam
-
Cheers guys I shall take some pictures later and post them up. Was thinking a couple of screws and some araldite type glue. Put it in the vice to hold shut (not too tight) the split is wide enough to see through to the other side and slide glue in.

Hi, Was wondering if anyone could offer me some advice please. I have a split in the wood on my air rifle going from the trigger backwards towards the butt about 3-4 inches long. It's long enough to make the butt move if it's not taped up tight. Does anyone know the best way I could fix this? The rifle is a Weihrauch HW80K. Any help or advice would be appreciated very much. Thanks Adam

I'm by far no expert but I suppose its the risk involved with hunting. There must be many factors that could cause a shot to miss even if you are the best shot in the world. At the end of the day you are firing a weapon at an animal and theres is a risk of wounding. Its the same with foul hooking in fishing. Its not nice but it sometimes happens. Thats a shame about the yew Christian. Was there nothing Phil could do? Naa mate, it had a calcium injection before Phil went fishing, its got alot to do with the warm days and cold nights we are getting the mo. Ahh I did see the emp

Is it me? "pretty instant kill"? Dead bunny running? "stone cold"? If there was no blood or pellet found I suspect this might be a case of the bunny dying of hypothermia! Maltby is right by the way. I bet there is not one person on this site who can place there cock on a block a say they've never hit a quarry that has got away. You nailed it thats the main thing. Practise however, probably wouldn't go amiss! rgds Swampy honestning Was strange gun was fired rabbit ran flipped and died all in a matter of a second. No suffering involved though apart from when PlinkPlink cu

Was good night mate. Was a pretty instant kill think it was the adrenaline that kept him going as he dropped in seconds and was stone cold when I got to him. Shame about the yew, any news from Phil about her yet?
