Hi y'all, Oops, just ripped the front sling attachment out of my 1717 stock by over-tightening the bipod. It's not definitely a write-off as I could repair it, but I just wondered if anyone knows of a decent synthetic and preferably tactical-ish stock for the 1717 cos I quite fancy a change. Cheers mick

This is relisted due to the original buyer failing to go through with the sale. For sale is my Leupold Vari-X IIc 3-9x50 scope in excellent condition. £160 + postage (tenner). It's located in Kingston upon Thames which is just a tad south west of London and easily reachable from the M25. Would be willing to travel a bit to meet you and close the deal. I would also be willing to post it once I receive funds. I have the original box (which has a couple of dings therefore is not in as good condition as the scope!), as well as the instruction manual, and Leupold duster. It

'Good reason' for a section 1 shotgun
mick.sterbs replied to mick.sterbs's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
This is an interesting point. I don't 'need' one any more than I need any of my guns. Shooting's a bit of fun, a hobby for me, and if I go out for the day then I need a gun, in fact a variety of guns depending on what I'm going to shoot, but I don't need any of them for my survival or my livelihood. So in the sense that sometimes there are vast flocks of vermin overhead and I need to be able to shoot lots of them at once, yes I need one :-) But will my life be much worse if I don't get one? No, I don't need one in that sense. My FEO has said no problem. I'm gonna go for it, -

Good point. I think I'll have a chat with my FEO and see what he reckons. Just didn't want to do that without getting a feel in here first. cheers Mick -

Open FAC for years so hopefully no problem. Cheers Mick -
I can feel a variation coming on, but I'd like to make sure I get it right. What's deemed 'good reason' for a section 1 (i.e. more than 2 rounds in the magazine and one up the stuffer... as you all know :-) ) shotgun? It's not very often I need shots 4 to 8 but when I do I curse, cos they ain't there. Would 'I need to be able to shoot more than 3 pigeons in quick succession without reloading' cover it? Do they put terms on your FAC? I mean, if I put that about the pigeons, will they put 'Pigeon control' on my FAC and then I can't shoot rabbits with that shotgun? Surely not.

Cheers! I'm near Kingston. I pine to move to the country but the wife doesn't. I've all but given up trying to convince her now. --

Hello all. Been lurking for quite a while here and enjoying the forums, just decided to register partly so I can post a for sale and wanted ad (looking for a scope swap!), but also looking forward to wading in to the discussions I shoot bunnies and pigeons and the occasional fox in Kent when I get the chance, which is not very often, and that's why I lost the huge farm I had permission for in Sussex to another shooter :-( Fair enough though, farmers don't generally want someone who only turns up once a month. So, I'm always on the lookout for land round the Surrey / Kent / Sussex areas w

For sale is my Leupold Vari-X IIc 3-9x50 scope in excellent condition. Ideally I'm looking to exchange for a Hawke Eclipse (see my post in the wanted section) but would also sell for, oooh I dunno, £160 or so.
