Great shooting, great trio of rifles, great ground and you done it all in great company.

That must be an amazing bit of kit and obviously this is shown in the results. With a family I don't think I could ever justify that without getting the divorce papers. I don't spend more than £1500 on a car. The two guys who run the shoot that I beat on have had a thermal set-up for a few years to keep on top of the foxes and rabbits. Looking forward to the videos.

Young ones were for the ferrets except for one I used as corvid bait yesterday but that was a fail. The best of the bigger ones get salted overnight, then the meat is taken off the bone and diced up and then it is being marinated in a curry sauce ready for a curry on Tuesday night. You just leave them in salt water then? 24 hours like... Yes just 24 hours in salted water, making sure I've removed the scent glands from the rear legs. Some people I've heard soak them in milk but I've yet to try that, seems a bit of a waste of milk. Tikka Masala curry was bootiful tonight, so may t

Slow But A Lovely Hour After The Winds And Rain.

Nice shot, can't really tell from the photo but are they rapeseed buds? -
Lots of sport there, and some very thick undergrowth. I expect old charlie will be laid up there for days feasting on crow pie.

After a busy day today I needed to go and relax so went off to a little grass field where I had seen a few rabbits. This was a field for hay so some small ones would need to be culled as well but they would be used for ferret food and possibly as crow bait if I can get out tomorrow. Got there at 6:30pm and walked down taking one adult on the way there. Set up behind a grassy mound although not ideal due to the wind direction but would give me a nice length of hedge to cover. Strangely the adults were the first to come out and I bagged a few before taking any youngsters. After the

Nice shooting. My one and only pcp is a 2003 S410 classic and I love it.

That's a great looking set-up, so different from the traditional wood stocks. Bit like clinker fishing boats versus carbon fibre racing yachts.
-
Nice shooting, I guess you eat the woodies (my favourite game when cooked lightly), but what about the collards? and I guess the ferals would be ferret food.

Nice session out and looks a nice area to shoot. I once left my rifle up at my old mans for a week when I went away on holiday. Came back and it was over a foot out at 25 yds, never found out how that happened .

Nice write-up even if it was a blank, any time out in the fresh air with the rifle is precious time. Great that you saw some hedgehogs, its been years since I've seen one round here.

Great shooting, always a challenge shooting eagle-eyed corvids. Really gets the heart thumping when you need to get on target quickly but in away not to draw their attention.
-
Nice evening for it and spot on shot.

Nice session there. Shooting late and getting up early for work takes some doing. When we've walked the fields late at night it always catches up with me over the next day or two.

Cheers Phil, it's a Fuji finepix XP90. A great little tough waterproof camera that is fairly cheap. I've used it successfully for underwater fishing and rockpool shots. Also the video quality is pretty good (1080HD) as seen in the ferreting section recently where I posted a clip in 'last day of the season'

All three if you look carefully along the hedgeline.

Hi Mark, Nice shooting with the old FWBs. This has got me itching to get mine out and give it a go again. Its a Sport 127 which I've had since the mid eighties. A few years a go it was given a new spring and seals. It originally came with a Nikko Stirling 4x40 WA scope but this has now been fitted to my lads old BSA Meteor. I've just ordered a set of high profile mounts so I can fit a slightly larger (56mm) scope onto it. I was wondering what you consider to be the best pellets for this rifle based on the ones that are available today? Regards Chris

Been out on a few trips over the past couple of months. Some of these have ranged from a mere hour or two up the road in the copse to walking the fields at night with the lamp. Some on my own and others with Rik and Luke and his young lurcher. A few pigeons and a good number of rabbits plus the odd blank. Found some land where the rabbits have been right out in the open at night and where mixy has not got a hold like it has on other areas round here. As a result we've taken a few from here with the rifles and also brought the lurcher along to have some good runs. Well this evening I decide

Nice shooting, from a fellow S410 user.

Spot on, the new permission looks promising.

Too nice an evening to be indoors so gave Rik a call to pop over for a couple of hours out. Choice was go after the rabbits or try for some other quarry. Decided on the later and walked up the road to the copse. On arrival we saw the odd pigeon leave, a couple of squirrels and a rabbit. I settled down at the lower end (midge heaven!!!) whilst Rik settled up at the top with his R10. Not much action down my end apart from odd glimpses of squirrels and a couple of pigeons hidden in the branches. There were a few baby rabbits out but am leaving these to mature for later in the season. Heard Ri
