  1. i heard about that it's comical isnt it. 'oi stop taking the piss out of my asaragus' ridiculous. i think someone did actually mention gingers too. the worlds actually lost it!
  2. we got a swimmin pool out back and the swallows used to line up on the telegraph wire and take turns swooping down for water there'd be abou 40 all in a row one would go down and drink then itd take its place at back of que and shimmy along. very british i thought! lovely birds they are. well done on your resques mate rolf harris would be proud!

  4. could i get the axe for a tenner? cheers tom
  5. ah right yeah it makes sense now, looked like something from a sci fi film to begin with!
  6. any chance you could make the same thing for 32-38'' waist? cheers tom
  7. what the f**k is that picture of?
  8. we've got loads of buzzards down here, theyre great to watch and listen to. we had a red kite down here not long ago, theyre pretty few and far between where i am that was a bit of a treat to watch too. saw a barn owl out in the daytime yesterday too. i love birds of prey i always remember as a kid watching an osprey stoop from what seemed like miles to me into the sea to catch a fish was awsome
  9. i shot one by accident once with an airgun but have shot quite a few with shotguns when i was a kid but now i wouldnt want to as i quite like them and also dont think they cause enough harm to warrent killing round here i also heard that they dont reproduce at the same rate as rabbits and the like so dont come back so well when loads are killed. but this may be untrue im not 100%
  10. shame youre so far away ive got a cabinet that would of done you that you could of had. unless theyre fac you dont need an expensive cab there will be plenty that fail the reg's that are enforced these days that you should be able to pick up very cheap. i personally leave mine out just in gunslips, but theres no kids in our house and theyre not fac
  11. great read that. crows are tough sods they swoop on most birds of prey from what ive seen. we've got loads of buzzards on our farm too theyre always up the back. ive never had them take anything ive shot though! i remember once in america providence, rhode island to be precise. there was a periguin falcon (probably spelt that wrong!) eating a pigeon right in the park i got within 6 ft of it for a picture then it started getting pissed off so i thought id best leave the poor thing to its dinner! was an amazing thing to see and right in the middle of a city!!
  12. lol, i close an eye but can do both it doesnt really bother me too much to be hounest
  13. lol i know mate that IS the end of it though i have found the rifle i want to keep i get on with it extremely well and being a mk1 its going to be easy to maintain too so should be good all round. im keeping the 400 for the minute as it's a nice gun to have for mates if we go hunting and they dont have a gun. if i do sell it youve got first shout craig mate i know you want her
  14. didnt go to the show but im now the proud owner of a rapid 7!! brought from night hunter who i have to say is an absolute stand up bloke. gns excellent and was packed and sent soooo well. really a pleasure to do business with many thanks to him. just got it today and have had a crow, rat and pigeon all with great success. really accurate spot on gun. will keep for the rest of my days. am totally brassic now but with the weather picking up hopefully work will too
  15. welcome mate good first post, pretty interesting to hear what it's like over there. does the 5 year stretch count for coursing rabbit etc aswell or is it just foxes? over here hunting fox with dogs is a tradition and part of our heritage and i for one am completely for it. i will be voting conservative and hoping the hunting ban is overturned. it sounds that you have quite a good set up for hunters over there. if i were caught hunting on national trust land i dont think i'd get off lightly! all the best to you -tom
  16. its strange i remember someone setting up a sort of competition where they gave different prey different points depends on how hard they are to kill. and woodies were highest. ive always found i can get a woody so much easier than a crow. the crow notice the slightest movement 100s of yards away theyre a nightmere to get but i seem to be able to sneak up on woodies a lot more successfully. that pic does look very open though there is no real way of sneaking up there. have you tried setting up a little hide along the hedge line the trees are on? might be worth a go?
  17. i had a supersport for my first rifle and it was great. light weight and easy to use. im guessing from the pic that you might be a bit small for a bigger rifle like a hw80 but once youre big enough then i suggest moving on to one theyre excellent as are all the hw's. the lightening's are fairly good from what i gather although i have heard of a few breaking. i think there was a bsa underlever on here or another forum for 120. thats running at 11.5 would be a great first rifle. think it was a superstar but dont quote me. itll be either on here, pigeonwatch or airgunforum. good luck nip
  18. ahh i see you did the same to both then fair do's. the wood looks better to me im a traditionalist when it comes to that. nice gun mate
  19. nice one mate. i thought you sold that ultra!? didnt you have a bit of a thing with the buyer because he used your pic or something? anyway whatever happened shes looking spot on good work! happy hunting tom
