  1. Smart pics mate he is a fine looking beast looks a real powerhouse
  2. I started mine off with the starting pistol and used the short blanks as they don't have as loud a crack as the long blanks Also I got my lad to fire it when the dog was about forty feet away then I threw a dummy that's was to act as a distraction then gradually cut down the distance to shot when i knew he was sound then used the long blanks he is sound to shot no problems this is my first gundog if have trained so I am no expert still learning probably a bit cautious but did not want to mess it up .

Out for a mooch with the air rifle had my young springer with me was out to get him on to live game felt he was now ready at at 16 months had made the dog sit and stay till I had a stalk over the hill to a small patch I knew sometimes holds a bunny or two as I got to the top it was starting to get dark and could just make out two bunnies at about 25 yards out..Had a shot and a bunny bagged but it managed to make cover to some heavy gorse bushes so called Baillie over and sent him in the rough direction it had last gone on a blind retrieve and after about 30 secs out he came with the live bunn

I have a 8 month old springer pup this is my first dog I have trained pup until now it has been going really well he will sit stay retrieves to hand good on the stop and return whistle The other night while out for a walk through some rough ground a rabbit got up right at his feet I gave a blast on the stop whistle but he seemed to ignore it something he has been really good with up until now don't no if the shock or adrenalin took over don't want this to become a habit would it help if I introduced a dummy with a rabbit skin to maybe help steady him any advice would be great thanks.
