Hello folks, Wanted to share my son’s recent dive into clay shooting. He decided he wanted his own hardware and picked up a Bakial 27E for £80. I wasn't to sure on his choice for a first-timer with it being double trigger, however his first idea was a SXS. We both when over to The Spitfire Shhot (Stockbridge). And what do you know? Within 10 minutes, he’s nailing shots. Singles, pairs, teal, driven pheasant, bolting rabbit, crossing pigeon, dropping duck he was loving it. Seems like he’s got a knack for it, a real natural talent. Gotta admit, I’m pr

Hello forum members, Allow me to introduce myself - I’m Karl. While I’m not new to this forum, I am new to the Salisbury, Wiltshire area. Recently, I’ve acquired both a shotgun and firearms certificate. My interests lean towards vermin control as it is what I have been doing with either ferret or air rifle, however I am eager to learn more about pigeon shooting, and stalking. However, I’m genuinely open to any hunting opportunities. as mentioned I’m keen to learn and eager to connect with experienced individuals who might be interested in guiding and assisting me on my journ

cdo_karlos replied to a topic in Ferrets & Ferreting
Hi, It been a long time... I am now back from South East Asia (2.5 Years). When I left I gave all 4 of my good working ferrets to "greenman". I am now looking for someone to return me the favour, I am looking for 2 Hobs, thats it, colour is not important, I would just like them it be from a good working background. I am willing to travel but not a crazy distance, I'm in the Salisbury area. I have plenty of permission and nets all i need now is the ferts. Thanks in advance. -
Ferret Re-homing thread - Free to good homes ONLY
cdo_karlos replied to a topic in Ferrets & Ferreting
I have 4 ferrets that I am looking to re-home, as my work is taking me to Brunei and i cant take them with me. They are a mixture of ages and are all proven workers from good working stock. I have handled them properly everyday and so have my kids so they are very friendly and have never bitten. Like i have said they don't bite so would be good for anyone who is new to ferreting or looking to take young children. I have worked them religiously every season with my young children and they have loved every minute of it. They are all males 1 castrated Albino 5 years old. (Zeuz) -
As my new long nets arrived on Saturday I had decided to go out on Sunday regardless of the weather with the kids and 2 of my hobs. So Sunday morning when I woke up and looked out of the window and saw frost on the ground I knew it would be a good day to test out my new nets. So we packed up my car (Mk1 Golf not the ideal car for ferreting) and a spot of lunch and off we went. We arrive to my permission and got to the first warren under a large tree, set up the nets around it and sent the ferrets to work. After a short while a few bunnys we're jumping but not bolting into the nets as

Is hunting morally acceptable? Well acres of habitat are protected by hunting-generated funds, lots of game species have experienced population increases due to modern game management, the economy is stimulated by hunting-generated revenues, also hunters, more than most citizens, care deeply about ecosystem. Outsiders to hunting are primarily concerned about the pain and suffering and loss of life inflicted on hunted animals and about the motives and attitudes of those who hunt. They are offended by references to game animals as "resources." They are angered by the sterile language, and by

So got a new permission, drove there this morning with the kids which was the first time I had been there and the first time I had taken the kids ferreting my son Jaden aged 6 and daughter Lexi aged 4. Had a quick look around and soon could see the place was over run with rabbits. Found a warren in a tree line. Nets down and the ferret at about 1200 and within 10 mins 2 rabbits out. Stopped for a bit of lunch and then up came the nests had another look around and found more places. However kids where cold so went home for a hot chocolate. But they enjoyed it so much they want to go a
