some good points of view there your right about this speed issue, just how fast do you need to be to drop a net correctly? maybe many new to netting will forget about fieldcraft and opt for speed in a hope to get the net set before their discovered. funny thing is myself and a fellow netter were having the self same conversation not more than a few days ago.

I have a falcon air rifle and their bluing is known to be one of the worse there is, so if im lazy and dont oil it after an outing it will rust very quickly, allmost over night. Like chris jones has allready said, oil and wire wool does the trick then just oil it after every use

John dee on ebay sells 10z I think I will order 10, there supposed to be quite tangle free and good price. Start of last season I bought 20 spun nylon (£45 ) nets and are worth the money, hardly tangle and handle like hemp (without the drying out) Ive used all weights of z nylon in purse nets and in my own opinion i find they dont handle like a good spun nylon or spun poly net does. Of course they will catch, as will an old onion bag set over a hole but the modern ferreter looks for more from his kit. the price above works out at less than 2.50 per net, to me thats a fair price for

as high as you can get it and manage to work it. my set has a hight of 6ft 8inch at the footline when set. With hight comes problems about the net wobbling but guy ropes sort that out. The higher it is the more confidently the rabbits will pass under it

cant see what your showing but these are what i use for end pins the ones in the pic are 2.5inch but i also make 4.5inch and 1.1/2 inch once the head and foot lines are spliced onto the pin it makes for a lovely free running end pin

he lives just up the road from me, was at a show selling in his words " Fair day deals, 2 mole traps for a tenner"" sounds good but when you think the wholesalers sells them to the general public for 2.99 it makes you think. the traps he was selling then wernt fenns. as for the dvd, its as good as his one on rabbiting.
