  1. i allways thought the differance regarding a tampax is the c*** on the outside of a tampax?
  2. IF YOU GO DOWN TO THE WOODS TODAY YOUR IN FOR A BIG SURPRISE.........
  3. Mad Al..... are you getting a touch of Da Ja Vue?
  4. hard to get a true picture of the lay of the land so to speak. i take it the length of long nets needed is too long for a drop net set up? and i also take it your having trouble getting to where you want to set the nets because the rabbits will see or hear your approach? not because its to far to walk? a shot in the dark but could you not cut a small pathway through the side hedge so your up close to where you want to drop the nets and simply on the proper night wind wise creep in and drop the nets? any chance of a few pics showing the drop and it might be more obviouse to those others
  5. Top man paid, very nice thought glad to see folk helping those new to the sport
  6. when the rabbits are out feeding, NO IM NOT TAKING THE PISS. get to know your drops and the rabbits habbits, are they early or late feeders? if they are early feeders do they travel out far enough to set a net without being noticed? all these things need to be known, not just a case of bimbling along to drop your nets
  7. YOU TIGHT ARSE pm me your address and i will post you some netting for you basket at the very nice price of 50pounds only kidding send me your address and i will send it to you for nout seeing as its christmas
  8. i think theres one or two gun smiths on this site or folk from an engineering background, maybe thay can shed some light on the subject. must be more than simply fps and pellet weight? anyone?
  9. In my 12ftlb pcp,any of the heavier pellets will produce higher ftlbs readings, but in my springers the reverse is true. Deker,as you say a .22 pellet with a muzzle reading of 780FPS would be 27.02 ftlbs. if you re-read my post i said that a .22 pellet weighing 18-20grains traveling at 780fps gives you about 26ftlbs. this is the point that most experts, not me believe to be the cross over point of the formular of weight x speed = power i know full well a .22 pellet traveling at 780 fps would be giving 26-30 ftlbs as bill88 has proved. also through my own experiance has shown
  10. because the law states(uk law) an air rifle will not exceed the muzzle energy of 12ft lbs that is the boundries the makers have to abide by. If they worded it as not exceeding say 900fps you would have in .22 something like 26-30ftlbs(purely a figure of the top of my head) now with this in mind that dictates that weight and size of the pellet is the governing factor to give you your measurement of muzzle energy rather than speed in flight. the basic formular for working out muzle energy is weight x speed = muzle energy. of course its a bit more complex than that but it is this rati
  11. Julia.. ive just noticed in your first post that "you were told to use a 2 1/2inch mesh gage. this is too large for rabbits as it will give you a full mesh size of 5inch. this size is better suited for hare and fox nets. dont forget to pm me about those needles
  12. I would carry on with the net you have started, 4 inch full mesh does catch and hold rabbits. the nets in this pic are 4inch mesh as for the needles i can sort you out those no problem, pm me your needs and i will see what i can do. as for the mesh gage PM crow he makes some beauties
  13. a white dog sacres off the rabbits whatever next, seeing little green men wearing hats and carrying a stick?
  14. LEON, if your only making a few nets let me know how many and what size nets they are and i will sort you out some braid, i have plenty of end spools so im sure i can help you out, just pm me your details PS, just noticed your is suffolk, same as me, where abouts?
  15. thats a fair sized beer gut you have on you there jasper
  16. just about to look at the threads and what do i see? an advert for IFAW stating that hunting with dogs is ILLEGAL IN THE UK please help us to monitor this situation. i know its only a google advert choosen from random( or so they tell us) but how ironic is it? wish they would get their facts about the law right first though dont think they like the exempt hunting bit of it all
  17. sounds to me like this guy saw you coming mate, standard net having 50%bagging,? what he realy ment was i can sting this gut for a few extra quid as with most things, buy your kit from those who KNOW AND USE their kit. this saddens me when certain folk will put the value of a few quid over the desire to help see folk off on the right path.
  18. personaly i think paddy should be banned comes on here getting the members all fired up with each other, then sneaks off to sort his gun out on his own, sly one we have here, bet he comes from an airgun forum ( please read thread on air gun forums) AND AS FOR THAT MAD AL................ well hes welsh so we can forgive him for his bluster, me, im just a thick englishman who likes a good old fashiond slagging only joking folks, lets keep this in good nature mad al..... is it to late for a refund on the falcon? Now, wheres that roundabout?
  19. decker...... couldnt agree with you more about what you have just said, but that is just what iwas trying to say to paddy. of course what i was saying about the angle of lean isnt going to be massively over exagerated, of course it will always have an effect on a persons shooting as will the way you sit, stand lean against something every time you take a shot in a differant position from that of zeroing. i like you have many years experiance shooting rifles, hell i even represented my county shooting in door 10meter targets. this is where the fractions of error can leave you a good few
  20. let me explain, the bands have a thread that the bolts screw into through the stock. these grip the mecanisiam (spelling?) the centre of the barrels bore is dead centre regardless of how you tilt metal work. this movement im talking about isnt massive but is noticable, enough to throw of a true sight picture. as for being accurate, cant fault it as for the pellet not flying true, isnt it the point of aim we adjust ( via your scope adjustments) to the point of impact?
  21. shot in the dark but what type of gun is it? on my falcon it has 2 gripping bands that when the stock is fitted the whole gun can be given a lean to one side in the stock, this would throw the sight of the line of true sight it it was leaning away from you.
