  3. compleat 10x6ft trade stand breaks down to fit into small fiesta size car/van. I know this is worth far more then asking price of £75 collected (a hot meal and a beer waiting for buyer) from suffolk for compleat list of gear being sold with this please pm me for a list. regards Molecatcher

  5. trappa... you live and learn buddy, why do you think us like you that do it for a living keep quiet? its not because we cant or wont pass on knowledge its because if you do you in danger of shooting yourself in the foot. I used to get about 25-40 pms a week asking for help and i have helped very few just for that reason. its not because were tight with our knowledge just getting wiser
  6. would that not form to large a knot to be streamlined for casting if going for long distances? tried the loop to loop method molecatcher , and don,t like it ,thanks anyway will give these other knots a try a home , thanks dogga its not your conventianal loop to loop moley, back splice are a lot neater
  7. would that not form to large a knot to be streamlined for casting if going for long distances? you can pull both loops that form the figure8 as tight as you like so you can even have it so theres no loop at all
  8. back splice a loop in both the braid and the lead core to form two loops much like a figure8. same as a back splice on the running lines of a long net
  9. this is one from a few years ago taken in mid winter. what you see in the pic isnt snow, its frost. it was about -10 that day it was that cold my line froze to the bite alarms wheel, and the chain hanger i was using froze stiff
  10. 'I need to buy a caravan for me ma, shes awful fond of periwinkle blue'
  11. you 2 should join a carp forum, that would liven the place up, i got banned for trying to sell a mates scales. too much yes sir no sir for me on there. there must be loads of carp anglers walking around with the smell of shit coming off their top lip. now you 2 lads have got it sussed, no beating around the debating bush, say it as you see it (rightly or wrongly) makes for a much better read then...... '' what do you boys think is better, red green or blue hangers?'' makes for such a boring and anal thread. anyway, you 2 lads want to borrow my mrs handbags?????
  12. diana mod25 was an air rifle i grew up with as my Dad bought one back in the early 70s from a catalouge, thats right a home shopping catalouge. Leather breach seal as well as a leather piston head. it was the very first gun i learnt to shoot with. im not sure what happened to it but i know it was great fun as a child plinking cans and such like with it.
  13. looks a well conditioned fish and at that size they fight well. hope you have a good season this year
  14. Im not picking on this gun in the pic, JUST USING IT AS AN EXAMPLE. i think what most folk dont realise its the shine of an object that will give your being there away more than the colour. if you look at the picture you will see there is one hell of a shine coming off the tape. some tapes ive used have an almost cloth feel to them. Combine with this the dull finish and you are part way there. theres more than simple camo paterns, ask any solder, ex or serving SHINE SHAPE SHADOW SILLOETE (?) Bottom rifle is a BSA Lightning that i sprayed up for my woodland tree rat shooting tha
  15. ive started to pre-bait 4 swims in case i get beaten to it by some other angler. im baiting from my canoo so as not to make a well worn path way to my swims, not that i expect anyone to carry all their gear to the spots i have choosen as its about a 1.5 mile walk from anything that resembles a road or path way. So i will be taking all my gear including my dogs to the swim via tha canadian canoo as i live 60yrds from the river that takes you to the swims. most anglers fish this stretch from boats, mostly pike in winter so i feel im in with a good chance of hooking a few. Landing them may be a d
  16. a few pics from the other evening as i was baiting up from my cannoo i just sat there drifting with the flow as i spooned in the free bees and within 20mins these were hanging about.
  17. what do you think their trying to tell you Tom?
  18. sounds to me like its one of those ''whats the meaning of life?'' kind of moments. normally happens either very early on in the morning when you cant sleep, or something major has happened in your life, ie your partner up and leaving you, loosing your job or a muched loved dog passing. eitherway many a educated man has had a stab at guessing the answer. Best thing ditch is to either leave the fly agaric well alone or hold back on the beer (start drinking if sober). but to just lay there and think about it all in a grand scale of things will drive a man insane, after all wasnt that what
  19. neither have I i just fancy the challange and i know its going to be a season long campaign but who knows, i may get a fish that beats my lake pb, 15'5lb 15.5lb ghost 15.5lb mirror i was up there this morning feeding the area and i saw a few spawning so i know im in the right area
  20. the river i have got my mind set on is well away from walkers and fisherman. ive seen carp spawning only yesterday (weds) and the banks just scream carp, tree roots at low water, over hanging alders and willows as well as realy muture reed beds. I have a plan of a 2 week baiting campaign to try and pull them into the area i intend to fish. This is only acsessable by either a 1.5mile walk through well over grown greenery or as i intend, via my canoo. its my canoo that i will be using to pre bate as well as getting myself to the swim for the weekends i intend to fish it. al along this stretch of
  21. Im just about to start a season of river carpin and im begining to think i may be some what mad. I have fished for carp up untill 3 yrs ago where a 5 yr solid bout (each and every wk end including xmas) came to an abrupt end. not throgh the boredom of carpin but due to the type of angler seen at the pits i have in my area. I know its all a matter of locating the fish, which i have done but i was just wondering if any other anglers have any experiance in river carpin and would they be so kind to pass on a few tips?
